Buy my car outright £0/£3300
Buy a caravan £0/£7500
Replace house windows £0/£50000 -
I agree with Halifax, and also Nationwide. I had both charged me for things i didnt do and Nationwide wouldnt even accept they were wrong0

Alliance and Leicester.
No question about it: including
horrible customer services
sending passwords that didnt work
refusing to honour me closing the account, meaning that I didnt fund it, and thus incurring charges, taking me overdrawn- I then funded it with 30 quid, knowing that it should clsoe and they would give me the change- they didnt.
Taking an age to cash cheques
refusing my 100 joining bonus even though I did everything they wanted me to do and more
refusing to let me reduce my overdraft.
AWFUL.
Im now 100% banking with Smile, who are utterly fantastic. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Abbey National - didnt realise how bad an interest rate they had till I changed banks.0

Natwest. Didn't want to give me "normal account", slapped me with charges for going £0.28p overdrawn and didn't waiver them even though we had 3 accounts with them etc etc etc. Horrible business.
I have Nationwide now and I love them. though I never got slapped by any charges as I never went over my limits by even a penny so have no experience about trying to get it back.
But I love the fact that I can take cash out anywhere abroad for realy good exchange rate and no fees.
Also they had no problem with accepting my business unlike NatWest and after 3 months offered me overdraft (I ever needed to use once).0 -
Barclays were pretty p*sspoor to me. Their phone banking customer service is atrocious; if HSBC can employ decent, well spoken, friendly people in offshore call centres, why can't Barclays? They refused to grant me an overdraft even when it was a dire emergency - meanwhile, every other bank I've been with has. That and their "chummy" rebranding frankly annoys the a**e off me - I want my bank to be my bank, not my best friend.
Lloyds TSB comes a close second. I had to close my account with them the other day; it was completely unused. The woman at the branch brushed me off and spoke to me like crap - made me so happy I was *closing* the account... Meanwhile, while I was doing precisely the same thing at NatWest, the contrast was incredible; the advisor was pleasant and chatty.0 -
Had bad experiences with Halifax and nationwide. Nationwide worst as I tried to add an additional cardholder onto my CC account, 6 weeks before we were travelling (wanted bf to have emergency facility). They said had to wait FOUR weeks for card to arrives. This time comes, no card and NO RECORD of my request even though I submitted the correctly filled form IN BRANCH.
Also then tried to open a flexaccount and was stuck by the cashcard decision even though I ALREADY have a credit card with them. Which can I do more damage with? Hmm, let me think. I even offered to close my CC and just have a debit card and they said no.
Halifax.. Had large deposits with them and never offered any kind of private banking service or financial advice. Missed out on a lot of business themselves there. Also, wouldn't give my bf a student account due to 'credit scoring' but happy to give him a student credit card!!!
RBS are only ones OK so far but am on my 2nd attempt to open a CC with them as the app form got 'lost' last time. I am not holding my breath.Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

ICICI - abysmal customer service.
ING - lying toads.
LTSB are working hard to get into my list after I upgraded my 4% current account to a 6% one in June, only to get 2.68% July and 3.86% in August. I await Septembers results with (pun intended) interest.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
