Holiday compensation advice

I have just holiday in Turkey which went badly wrong. To cut a long story short we were delayed for just over 24 hours with no communication or help from the travel company as to what was going on.
I have written to the travel agent concerned but so far I have had no satisfactory response regarding any possible compensation.
Does anyone know whether I have a possible claim agaisnt my credit card provider under the consumer credit act? I have rung the CC and they have bascially said no chance, but then they would would't they.
Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Why were you delayed? Did you have travel insurance?Gone ... or have I?0

Yes I had travel insurance but it was a basic policy and didn't include delays. I'm not too concerned about that though.
We still don;t kow why we were delayed, we were given no information throughout the 24 hour period about what was going on.
I'm confident that we will be entitled to some sort of compensation but the travel company are dragging there heels, thats why I wondered if we might come under the consumer credit act as we made full payment via credit card.0 -

Well maybe there was no information to give
And I'm far less confident than you that you are entitled to compensation - it depends why you were delayed, whether it was outbound or inbound and a few other things as well. Maybe maybe not.0 -
Your probably right, a 24 hour delay is not much to complain about and it's pretty silly of us to exect them to tell 300+ passengers why nobody is going home.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake0 -

Sarcasm is not really going to help your case.
dzug1 makes a very good point - sometimes there is no information to give. Would you rather than they made something up?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Ok look, it's clear you both have some little double act going on with you little thank you box clicks but I came on here for some genuine help.
With all due respect I'm quite capable of making my own mind up regarding the validity of not being given any info.
If your unable to help with regards to my question then thanks for your time but please don't mess me about and prevent me from getting assistance from someone who might be able to offer some genuine help.0 -

We have both given constructive input. Are you going to be this defensive to everybody that disagrees with you?Gone ... or have I?0 -
