I'm guessing it's no coincidence that this occurred shortly after the website was mentioned in the MSE newsletter, so it looks like they may be struggling to cope with their new-found popularity (thanks to MSE :D ).

As is so often the case, the "MSE touch" can be both a blessing AND a curse for the companies concerned, as they relish the extra business but often struggle to cope with such a sudden influx of customers. :wall:

They do sell the cd's for a good profit! they have a shop in my area which might even have some of yor discs in it now!

I think its owned by the guy who had Music Zone, before it liquidated and then he set this up!

  • Was offered £136 for 92 CD's which works out about £1.50 per CD I think. Not bad. Not sure how I'll send so many CD's in the post. Anyone done this before?

    In Reply to Spectralis,
Think it was about 26 discs i sent, averaged just over 50p each. They sent me 2 jiffy bags, plus the 2 jiffy bags they were posted in and 4 labels ( think thats right) .
If it was me i would be inclined to split yours up a bit and send in batches of about 30 or less incase any were to go AWOL in transit.

  • I was going to input my barcodes into Music Magpie this evening but got an alert from McAfee:

"Why were you redirected to this page? When we tested, this site attempted to make unauthorized changes to our test PC by exploiting a browser security vulnerability. This is a serious security threat which could lead to an infection of your PC."

So I'm thinking twice now. Anbody else?

All in all this looks like a good idea for people who have time to do it and genuinely wants rid of their CDs. I have been a bit put off by the FAQ which say they will take 50p off the selling price to refurbish the disk and their decision is final. I'd be interested if anyone experiences this, not much point selling them a CD for 50p to have them keep it. Hope this does not happen.

  • I had a look at this site yesterday after hearing all the good stuff but for 52 cds i was going to get about £30...I can't decide whether to go for it or not?! I know if I put them on ebay some may not even sell but it is so hard to decide...for ease of use it certianly wins on that aspect!
