Would ham cooked on Christmas eve be ok to throw into a soup tomorrow new years day?? or should I just bin it?

Yes, as long as it's been kept chilled it should be fine. I'm still eating the ham my BIL cooked the day before Xmas.

Do you think a cheesecake or rocky-road type traybake made with a mixture of leftover biscuits would be edible?

    Hi scotrae,

I suppose it will depend what type of biscuits they are but it should work.

These threads might give you some ideas:

What to do with 300g of Digestive Biscuits?

What to do with Rich Tea Biscuits?

What to do with Stem Ginger Oat Biscuits...

    Broken Biscuits

I'm making pork in mustard sauce for tea, I have four chops but as I'm all on my own I was going to freeze half, but not sure if it will be ok for the freezer?

the sauce is made with chicken stock, wholegrain mustard, creme fraiche and parsley...it was the creme fraiche that was worrying me...

    many thanks,

    Hi Lazymoo,

It will freeze fine. I often freeze dishes like beef stroganoff with creme fraiche in. The sauce may look a bit funny when you take it out of the freezer but once it's defrosted it reheats perfectly.

    Hi All - Quick Question

Does anybody put the big ceramic pot from out of the slow cooker in the dishwasher???

Mine says on it not to, but I don't really understand why? It is the only reason I don't use it more often, It is so big and heavy to wash!!!

Yes it will be fine. Mine goes in the dishwasher everytime I use it, and has come to no harm.

I belive it's for the same reason you're not supposed to soak it fully immersed in water. (It's okay to fill it up to soak it.) There's a non-glazed section on the underside to allow for expansion or something and this can soak up a lot of water and then if you heat the dish up again with this water actually within the walls of the pot it can expand too quickly and craze the glazing. Also some dishwashers have a very sharp transition between hot and cold and this can cause the glazing to crack too.

    Hi...

I'm using my new breadmaker for the first time and have used part of a sachet of fast action dried yeast. What is the best way and temperature to store the rest of the opened sachet?

    Thanks in advance!!
