    Hi elantan,

Just treat venison steaks in the same way you would beef steaks. These threads may help:

    Venison steaks

venison: what to do with it?

Did it perhaps have a 'spicy, warm' flavour to it? - if so maybe there was ground mixed spice, or perhaps cinnamon, added to the flour before baking.

Did anything in it look, or taste, a bit like mincemeat? Or perhaps a slight flavour of something alcoholic (sherry, rum, brandy perhaps) - maybe the fruit was soaked in a 'little something' before being added to the mixture.

I googled Christmas Scones and came up with this link - maybe they were something like this: http://www.trifles.nl/2007/12/21/christmas-scones/

    Hi Mumof4,

I don't think there's a specific thread but there seem to be a few recipes on the board, I'll link to some of them below:

    Christmas pudding ice cream

nicest ice cream in the world

    quick christmas pudding ice cream

    festive ice cream

Here's a delia recipe and I found this link in an earlier thread.

I'm making some salmon fishcakes and 'need' to breadcrumb them for the family. I don't really want to use an egg just for this and I'm not sure I have enough. Is there anything else I can use to get the breadcrumbs to attach...?

    Hi blahn,

It's probably too late for you now but I've dipped the fishcakes in a little melted butter before adding the breadcrumbs when I was out of eggs.
