Quick question, I'm shopping in the early hours Monday morning, if I purchased a turkey crown will it last in the fridge until Christmas day?

It should be fine but obviously get one with a long enough BBE date.

Off topic and out of interest.... If you know your thread is going to be merged why don't you just post it in the right place to begin with? For example, the Turkey thread or the Quick Questions on anything sticky at the top of the OS board.
Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have. :)

Not if it's got a BBE date of 22/12/08?

    Just check the BBE date.

BTW 10past6, I usually buy frozen turkey, and check defrosting times on a supermarket trip a week or so in advance. Then I work out which day I need to go and buy it so that it will be defrosted but not off by the time I want to cook it, because I can't fit a turkey in my freezer.

I'm not doing a whole turkey this year because we're going away on Boxing Day and I can't bear the thought of dealing with the carcase before we go. So I will be investigating crowns too.

 - it's so simple when you really THINK about it, isn't it!

If I had brains, I'd be dangerous - well at least that's what my mother used to say about me!!

Thanks Savvy Sue :T - I promise to remember that one for next year:D.

    :hello: Hi all,

Made my first Christmas Cake this year

OH marzipanned it last week and royal iced it yesterday. The question is do I need to refrigerate it or leave it at room temp to get the icing to set perfectly? Its in the fridge at the mo as the kitchen was hot and I think it was melting the icing slightly, but should I take it out now?

    C xx
