Hi Zippy
I am wondering if you could try a little bit and see how it goes - it may 'set' slightly? Otherwise do you have a food processor that you could blast granulated sugar to smithereens with? There is nothing worse that setting out to make something and finding you have the wrong stuff!!!! Just a suggestion!Every days a School day!0 -

:rotfl: at the 2p pieces, hope the shop keeper was pleased!
Sorry you didn't get a response in time, I'd have said it would make it harder and more set than normal icing sugar, you'll have to try it on something which doesn't matter and let us all know ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

This might seem like a silly question but...
I'm planning on cooking roast chicken tonight and also fancy making some chocolate brownies, obviously it's more economical to cook them in the oven at the same time but will the chocolate brownies pick up the meaty smell from the roasting chicken? I know alot OSers cook a few items in the oven at once but I haven't done it before0 -
Dont worry not a silly q at all - heres a thread discussing this very situation

Marmalade question. I got a bag of Seville oranges reduced to 10p today. Can I make marmalade with granulated sugar or must it be preserving sugar. Thanks.0

Hi all, I'm hoping some of you thrifty ladies can suggest ways I can use up some of my risotto rice. Obvs I could make risotto but I dont have much else to go in there, is there anything else I can do with it? Or any risotto recipes that dont need many ingredients, I'm trying not to spend too much this week!0
