Hi - anyone know if i can poach chicken in the oven? i have a pot shortage due to cooking other things but i need to poach chicken. I usually put in a pot with boiling water and boil for about 30 mins from frozen. :)

I can't see why not so long as the pot has a lid? I would take it in a medium oven and check it after ten mins if it's breasts!

need to make some yorkshires for tea tonight but only got either Self raising flour or strong white bread flour. which one would be best to use or shall I scrap the idea and use the eggs for a cake instead?

(I accidently crushed two eggs tonight so they need eating)

    thanks

I don't think you can get stuff perfectly cubed in the processor, I use it to chop stuff finely with the blade, but it is still slightly chunky....

If you wanted chopped swede I would use chipper disc and then manually chop the chips to cubes iykwim....

Other people may hv more advanced food processors than me though lol

Hey Gang..I'm after a step by ridiculously mini step guide to making:-
a/ white sauce using cornflour in place of marg + flour. &
b/ beer batter to coat wet fish before baking in the oven.

I've done the traditional methods but have heard these variations are better?
    Hope you can help. Thanks.
