But the risotto method might be useful, if you wouldn't mind, because if I can't work out a way of delivering the food on Thursday I may have to finish it and deliver on Friday. Goodness knows how and when ...
Here's a basic risotto recipeI'd chop the veg you have smallish and add it with the onion and celery

This is my favourite carrot soup recipe - you could substitute ginger for corriander.

Thanks Penny, that recipe looks good. I'll try that next time. I've already got the sliced beans in the sc though, with the carrots, celery, coriander, onion and a small bit of lazy garlic. Will the beans make it taste horrible? Is there anything I can do to rescue it? Lentils, curry paste, etc? Think it's going to turn into vegetable surprise soup! Thanks0 -

Shouldn't think so for a minute - you may have just invented the Next Big Thing in soups

that looks complicated. I'm not good at standing over things stirring them ... really needed something I could throw in and forget ... will have to find my slow cooker cookbook and see what's in there.
Try this one then :rolleyes:I like to make risotto the long way as I find cooking relaxing, after a long day in the office

Unfortunately, my eggs were a pack of 18, packed in a ridiculous arrangement of cardboard base and unattached flimsy plastic lid, covered in shrink wrap. Attempting to remove the shrink wrap I picked up the cardboard base at one end, at which point it bent, and all but 5 eggs leapt suicidally from the base. Some landed on the table and benches, but several died on the floor. I promised DS3 that none of the latter ended up in the dinner.
Please tell me how that's relaxing? :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I want to send my FIL some homemade goodies by post as he'll be *hopefully* coming out of hospital this week has anyone got any ideas for packaging say HM loaf,couple of loaf shaped cakes,rolls and brownies??
I'm going to try sending the parcel special delivery so hopefully it won't end up as a box of crumbs!!
Thanks a lot

Plastic biscuit tins? If that's not a contradiction in terms ...
Worth checking whether two lighter parcels would go cheaper than one larger one. It's a bit of a minefield these days ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I've got my two shower curtains in the washing machine at the moment to freshen them up.
They're just the cheap, water repellent fabric type. With previous pairs, I've washed them a few times and they eventually lost their water repellent-ness (z'at a word?!) but I noticed on the care label for this pair that it said;
"Cool iron after washing to restore water repellent quality"
Does that work? (I.e. will I have to dust the iron off :eek: - I never iron *anything*!)
Thanks in advance0
