I'm hoping someone has advise for me
I want to make a Victoria sponge cake with cream and jam in the middle but when I cover it in (ready rolled) icing it slides, what am I doing wrong? (it's an attempted christening cake and if all else fails it'll be fruit lol)GC July: £0/£1200 -

Too much jam maybe?
or maybe you just need to be quicker slapping the icing on, so it doesnt get a chance to move around:D:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
Does she mean the cake is sliding when putting the icing on? Jinks, my coffee hasn't sunk in yetA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

If the cake is sliding, less cream may be the answer.
If the icing is sliding, putting jam on top of the cake may help. No bits in it, obviously.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Sorry, yes I ment the top half of the cake slides when you put the icing on, seem's to be the weight of the icing pulling it off maybe? I don't normally ice cakes!GC July: £0/£1200
