I think your butcher was right, I can't see why freezing a lamb chop for example should make it weight any more or less, it's still going to contain the same amount of water albeit it a differrent form.

You could always try taking 250ml of water, which will weigh 250g and freezing it (in a 500ml jug) then dropping the resultant ice cube back on your scales to see if it's still 250g

    It should be the same.

The only thing we have problems with, is with some packaged pre frozen fish.

There always appears to be an excessive amount of water when it thaws out
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Did your ducky legs work ok? :)
They were nice~gran wasnt too impressed, she thought I was cooking chicken and had been looking forward to that:o:rotfl:

I did them on high for 2 hours( cos I forgot to turn them down:o) then low for the rest:cool:

If they had been in a large slow cooker, rather than Gran one person tiny wee thing, they would have been better. I had to squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze them in:rotfl:

    But they were tasty:j:j

I've made some corn and prawn cakes tonight, which were tasty, but the mix was too wet, so they fell apart when cooking. The mix consists of garlic, fish sauce, chilli, egg, sweetcorn and prawns and a bit of flour.

Can I add more flour (I only have plain or self raising) to firm the mixture up? I was thinking of possibly making some mashed potato and adding to the mix for a kind of fishcake, but not sure if that would work. Orrrrr breadcrumbs added to the mix maybe? I'm guesing now :p

    Any ideas?

Any of those would work, flour would make it stick together, the potato would be nice, and breadcrunbs would work, too. That was really helpful, wasn't it!! :rotfl:

Lol, well it was, at least I know all three will work :p I am currently boiling some potatoes to mash as they need using anyway so will see what it's like then and add flour if need be. I may even breadcrumb them as well! :rotfl:

...have you had any cake today?

No! :) But I've just had a crepe, someone was asking about them further down the board, and I just had to make some for dessert, I was good though, and only had one!
