Hi Chickarooneeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Will you be heating or cooking the chicken again in the process of preparing the pie?
if you look back a couple of posts you can see almost the same thing being discussed. I would aim for cooking chicken twice in total where possible - others would cook it more, but I try to avoid that where possible
So if it was me, i would try to prep the pie without cooking the chicken, then freeze it - then you know it is going in the freezer being cooked once
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Thanks zippy - definitely wanted to cook the chicken twice only but was a bit worried it might taste rubbish! Do you think it'll be OK just to put gravy/chicken/mushrooms all in together, pastry ontop and freeze?
too many comps..not enough time!0 -
Sounds good to me chick (aroonie!) :j:rotfl:
There is also a chicken pie thread so you can read and see how others make theirs

Hello all,
This is just hypothetical, but was wondering if you could make yoghurt in the low or keep warm part of a slow cooker? No idea if you could, but it seems the same premise as an easiyo...?Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
It has been mentoined before but I can't find the post. There is a thread but it doesn't answer the question!
AH JOY! Another thread with yoghurt spelt wrong. WOOP! Yes, you can

Will chicken be ok to eat today, that I cooked Sunday evening?
I would normally have eaten by Tuesday, but i've got some that I forgot to freeze. I was going to marinade and do a stir fry with it.0 -
I think you're right on the border, tbh. If it looks and smells OK, try a little bit and, if it tastes OK, I might just be tempted to risk it, but only for me - I wouldn't risk it with kids.
If it looks or smells at all dubious, don't risk it - it's not worth getting food poisoning for.Back after a very long break!0 -
I tend to use the three day rule, so wouldn't hesitate to eat it providing it smelt ok
