Right, i have made cossies in the past, so at a quick look here's what I would do .... And i am no expert sewer by the way, i just make it up as i go along.

    Amazing! You're fabulous.
I think I shall do the majority of that, but not using paper for one reason... He actually doesn't want it for a party, he just wants it! lol, how silly is that? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl:ha ha ha, maybe he has some sort of wolf fetish?

Where did i say paper? When you make a cossie like this, you will have to tweak and change things, but it will work out with some thought and imagination! Feel free to pm me any time if you are stuck or need suggestion! :D

Here, another q. Am using lazy ginger and the recipe calls for a 2 inch piece chopped - how much would you use in teaspoons or tablespoons? Roughly even? NEver used the lazy Ginger before.

Ears - little triangles of fabric - maybe seconds from a haberdashery? Stuff them with scrunches up paper or something enough to stuff them and make them stand up. Sew on hoody hood

Does it not give you any clues on the packet / jar? I'm afraid I wouldn't have a clue, not a huge fan or ginger. But remember you can put more in more easily than you can take some out! :rotfl: In other words, a little at a time is the way to go if you're tasting as you go!

No clues Sue! I bought it as ginger is such a pain to buy and prepare and it's handy. Ill just guess! With the amount of spices going in this curry, i don't think one flavour will matter so much!

Paper - ah. Doh brain. :D

I reckon I would use 2 tsp for 2 inches. I think that should be about the same. I love the lazy jars, think whilst they cost more initially it means you don't end up with loads of mushy chillis or ginger in the bottom of the fridge!

Thanks Sian! I guessed a tablespoon so will see how it goes

Yes they are v ery handy - i wouldn't knock anyone for using them at all! Brilliant, and saves waste and faffing about with chilli/ginger/going to shop specifically for that etc. Happy days! I got it in Asda which is new to me as I never go there, and i think it was pretty cheap?!

I treated myself to a pot of rose-scented lipbalm (petroleum jelly-based) but something (presumably the rose essential oil) makes my lips really sore so I've had to stop using it. I'm reluctant to just throw it out - can anyone think of any possible use for it?

    Thank you! :)

CCP ummm the only thing I can think of is when you wear high heels, if you put it on your feet where the shoes cut in, it stops a lot of hurt and pain! When i used to wear heels i used to plaster my feet in vaseline :D

Sian - how exciting! Keep us posted :D

my pilau rice turned out brill, don't know what's so exciting about putting food colouring in rice and making it coloured but it was super pleasing and very tasty ! Pot went in the oven with the lid - only i did forget the handle was hot and burnt my hand lifting it:o

actually it could be the petroleum jelly bit of it rather than the essential oil.

You might be able to tolerate it on elbows, knees and feet. It could work on drawers which don't run smoothly. And you could even stick a wick in it and try it as a candle, maybe ... perhaps better to leave the lid off in some pot pourri?

Just spotted this, risen to the top of the heap, as it were. I knew there was a thread somewhere, but it might help!
