Hi
I am making a pumpkin soup from a recipe, and it calls for a cinnamon stick to be placed in with the pumkin in the initial cooking stage, it later tells me to blend the pumkin....silly question now do I blend the cinnamon stick in with this or should I remove it before blending (not used cinnamon sticks before so sorry for the silly question)
cheers
Jim
• I would remove the cinnamon stick, Jim. :D And there is no such thing as a silly question on the OS board. ;):D

It might look nicer if you brown them off first, plus you can get rid of any excess fat. If you start from raw, I'm not sure if they'll cook before the Hole does, plus all the fat will be there.
Signature removed for peace of mind

Hi eveyone!

This is my very first post although I've been lurking for while! I've just logged in and found a PM from a "natural36dd". This is the first time I've ever logged in so I wanted to check - do we get spam in our inboxes?

Thank you all so much for sharing. I always considered myself as economical and sensible but the amount of useful information I've found on this board shows I'm just a novice!! Thanks again. :)

Hi there,
Anyone got a good pasta bake recipe ? With something other than tuna (I don't like it) ? So far I have come up with broad bean and roasted pepper but would love some (cheap) ideas.

Hi orkneystar,

Left over chicken and brocoli with mushrooms is good. Chop up the chicken and part cook the broccoli and pasta. Fry an onion, garlic and the mushrooms and put aside. Make a (sloppy/wettish) cheese sauce or a white sauce is fine too. Mix all the ingredients into the cheese sauce season with black pepper and put into an oven proof dish. Top with any combination of breadcrumbs, crushed plain crisps and grated cheese and cook in the oven until heated thoroughly.

I made this earlier this week and threw some leeks and red peppers as well...any combination of veg will do.

Hi Reeni,

Welcome to the Old Style board. :)

It's rare to get spam pms but it does happen from time to time I'm afraid. If you copy the whole pm including the username and send it in an email to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com they will deal with it and stop the user bothering you again.
