I have decided not to touch any unheard of company like mobile rainbow or mobile outlet.... just not worth the gamble...too much cash to lose. Yes they are good deals and very tempting (well they would be wouldn't they to entice us to spend) but go with e2save or OSPS or mobileshop or high st name.... some good deals there too and reliability is crucial in the mobile business

Whats the deal on the Siemen SF65 on Phone Box Direct that was posted earlier in this thread. When i click on the link it just shows the phone and has information but doesn't have anything about the tariff or the deal. what is the deal on the phone??

nb - thank you - I have amended my original message as it was written months ago and clarified at the time that they are trading partners on another thread. Wording is potentially misleading (given the volume of text about Caudwell/Dextra on their site). However, has anyone had cashback from them? Seems strange for a company to have been up and running for 2/3 years with these sort of offers and little/no feedback about them at all (positive or negative). I was skeptical about cashback offers but took the plunge last year and am now on my third - if it is good enough for The Link and CPW to offer them, then I am now less skeptical when other outfits offer them as well as it must be (somehow) viable for the company as otherwise they wouldn't bother. That said, I have only gone with well known companies so far, or those that have been given positive reviews on here.

Yes, the wording is deliberately, in my opinion, designed to mislead you into believing that they are part of a larger more reputable company.

It is viable for the companies to do this because only 40% (someone correct me if that figure is wrong) of the general population actually claim the cash back, (and I imagine even less, when its by multiple instalments) despite buying the deal because of the headline price with cash back included.

On this basis, assuming they make no money from the people that claim cash back in order for the company to make money;

the price the company sells the phone for, P > 2⅔*C, where C is what it costs the company to aquire and sell the phone.
