I'm slowly making progress, going through the boxes. Goal is to have my 'office' completely de-cluttered by the end of the month, so I can decorate it before moving back into it (I'm in a 'warmer' room for the winter). The carpenter has just been last week to fit the new window, so good incentive to keep going with it now.

In this week: food shopping, also 4 new beehives (not my problem).

    Out:
    - lots of paper clutter from a degree I did more than 15 years ago. Still keeping the empty lever arch files until I have re-vamped the filing system.
    - six redundant beer glasses.

Question: is there any specific charity or other good cause that would be happy with a lot of sheet music? I found a box full of choir singing music, and I also have a lot more flute music than I will ever use. Note I live in France and no charity shops - the nearest freecycle is more than 1.5 hour's drive away so pretty useless. But we will be in the UK next month so I could bring it back if anyone wanted it. Seems a shame to just dump it (I couldn't!).

p.s. while going throug a box of things my mother left me as 'memory stuff', I just found myself holding my own very first shoe. Amazing to see a baby shoe made in the 1950's!

Well, I've kinds fallen off the fling wagon!!

I've been so busy with college and the children and various appointments etc that I've barely had time to declutter anything other than the odd binbag of rubbish.. i've a few things to drop off at nursery and I am sorting through the mountain of school uniform in order to rehome all the age 3-4 stuff.. :D.. I need to sort through ALL the childrens clothes and i'm sure i can find a few bits to refuse reentry to my cupboards!

The kitchen cupboards etc are fairly streamlined now i think.. but my backroom is still a pit!!

    Hi everyone

Glad to see the decluttering is going so well. Over the weekend DH put up my new clothes pulley in the conservatory, so have lots of washing on there - it is south facing, so should be dry by tonight :j

We are slowly decluttering in there, and once we have done that, we are going to get a comfy suite so that we can sit in there this summer.

Just finishing knitting a jacket for my sister, and once I can figure how to sew in the hood, that will be someting else OUT :T Trouble is, I bought a load of wool from Aldi last week, so cancelled that one out :o

    Morning all.
Thanks as ever for your all your inspiring posts!

I thought I was beginning to see some progress but as you'll see, it's one step forward and one cluttery step back!

    OUT:
Lots of goodies at a boot sale over the weekend. And lots that didn't sell went to the charity shop.
Two bulky items out via freecycle to two happy people
Lots of ebay items going to the post office today and two people collecting furtniture.

    BUT...IN:
A huge bag of baby clothes (note: I don't even have children!)
    Lots of books!
    Boyfriend's car parts????

    Good luck everyone!

I can completely sympathise with you there. Before we moved my living room had 8 alloy wheels, 4 spare tyres, and loads of other stuff including grilles, lights, wing mirrors you name it we had it.

Now that we have moved - It's all been relegated to the shed! :D

Yesterday I had a very productive day in the loft:

    OUT:

    3 large empty boxes
    1 empty hamster cage
2 large pieces of old carpet
    2 large polythene bags
    1 old bucket
10 large binliners full of rubbish
I very large sheet of thin hardboard
1 very long iron pole (To go in shed if it will fit)
    1 small piece of chipboard
3 bags of clothes for recycling

    IN:

    Nothing

We now have a very tidy loft and lots of boxes still in there to sort out.
I now have a sore throat and a stuffed up nose and the dust in the loft is playing havoc with my asthma but I am very proud that the 8 hours myself and my 13yr old spent up there have paid off. :)
