    OMG

we have decluttered DD2s bedroom to the state where there is nothing in it......

We're redecorating, new walls, floor, everything (well it was last painted and carpeted over 20 years ago.....:o )

Now just have to recycle, freecycle, charity shop and bin anything that's not going back in when its finished.

That sounds good. I took two bags to the charity shop yesterday, and have just thrown out a load of unwanted packaging. I've also stacked some magazines to scan some magazine covers and articles for a friend, and then I can recycle them.

So good to catch up with the thread - been too busy lately to immerse myself, lol.

I finally decluttered the house - so easy when you have a removals van parked on the drive :p :rotfl:

But honestly, the move did make us clear a lot of stuff out - we have an MPV, never use the back seats, and must have filled the boot space every day for almost a month with things to the charity shop, dress agency and tip, plus the various loads that went on freecycle.

What I want to know though is how, when we took so much out of the house, did the removals guys still comment that we 'had a lot of stuff' - how much is normal for a house with 3 small children? - we filled less than a pantechnicon, and that included all the garden stuff (bench, table, playhouse, sandpit and outdoor toys).

We are still decluttering on a minor level now we're in the new place - it's a different shape, so not everything fits as we thought it would (darn  ) - luckily we have an animal charity just doors away, so their stalls are going to be well stocked for a while, and with most of them having been in boxes for the last month, the kids have finally realised exactly how many toys they 'couldn't live without' back in January that they really 'couldn't care less about' now - yay :j

I'm loosing the battle with the laundry though - I have absolutely nowhere for the tumble drier - and whilst it's in no way OS to have one, it is rather important when it comes to clothing the kids or getting KS bedspreads dry - there's very little radiator hanging space either, but at least I have a good washing line (didn't at the last place) and it's not rained too much lately.

So whilst we're a mess at the moment, it's packing boxes, not piles of 'stuff' - and with a front room that has a full-wall floor-to-ceiling window, and the landlord apparently living very nearby (so the LA says) I can't let the old mess reappear (this is a nice area - people actually mow their lawns and wash their cars on a Sunday afternoon - can't let the side down  :D )

Well some of my ebay items have some bids on which is good.

Am intending to ebay a sunpipe this week which we discovered wasn't suitable for fitting in the utility room when we refurbed it.

Spent today and most of yesterday in the garden burning masses of branches which are too thick to shred and compost. Half the pile is gone, but the pile was about 7 foot high and 6 foot across, so there is still a good pile to go.

    In:
Four bushes for the garden & some potting compost

Out: hopefully five ebay items tomorrow.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

I could have done with this thread a month ago.

I've recently moved house, and while my decluttering started in January I still have LOADS to declutter.

A current list of everything that's gone to date:

LOADS of clothes (all 0-24 months, judging by the fact my son is now 3.5 I shouldn't have really kept onto)
    Various DVD's
    Baby Stuff I didn't use.
Clothes which were either too big or too small for me.
Shoes (too small for my boy now)

There's still loads to get rid of, I can't believe I've collected so much stuff in the last 3 years.

Since we moved in here, we've not bought anything, but as we moved from a furnished house, to an unfurnished, we needed furniture.
The furniture we have acquired all came from a charity shop.
3 Mahogany Effect Cabinets (1 corner, 1 double, and a single)
    and
    A 3 piece suite

These were all being thrown out by the Charity Shop. We made a donation of what we could afford, and they were ours.

A good clean for the units, and a scrub down of the 3 piece suite and we were laughing.
