The Great Declutter - 18 months on

greent - how awful! especially as none of it was clutter..... and it is such a nasty thought that people got to your house and helped themselves to your belongings.
Otherwise, I'm still struggling with the decluttering. I have a big cardboard box standing in front of me which is my next decluttering project, but haven't started on it. And tomorrow is a working day again....
A few things came into the house today, but not clutter: we visited an elderly couple in the village and came back with a tub full of lily-of-the-valley blobs to plant in the garden, 6 freshly laid eggs and a giant, but really GIANT parsnip!"Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
Hi all,
Sorry to hear about your garage being raided greent, hope the police do catch up with them.
Just to make you smile, my dad always said if we were burgled then with our clutter they would think someone had broken in first
Quiet for me again this week
IN:
Groceries for all next week.
Toy for LO's 1st birthday.
Pressie for DH's birthday (have 4 b/days in space of a week this month  )
OUT:
Bit paperwork.
Usual refuse.
Only 1 ebay item.
Recycling.
Looking forward to planting some seeds next week (tomatoes etc.) so will need to declutter windowsills to reclutter them with pots! Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Morning all!
Thanks for all the thoughts re the burglary. Police visited for descriptions and we had SOCO out (there were some things they'd obviously picked up and discarded) They also took the kids' Easter eggs (b'stards!) and some stuff belonging to builders we have here - a £300 planer (which was in bits and they took the time to collect it up from about teh garage and pack it away! - cheeky gits!) and a brand new unopened boxed set of screwdrivers and a big brand new carry case of screws. Builders were a bit miffed, but we pointed out to them that they did leave the front garage door unlocked, so they didn't have a leg to stand on (I personally believe they entered through side door, but an unlocked door means no claim whatever
Anyway, small amount to update:
IN:
1 present for Xmas (found in sales)
12 Xmas tags (for 18p!!) to match paper I already have
1 present for mothering sunday for mil
OUT:
Foodstuffs - I decluttered and tidied pantry and food cupboards - got rid of a few severely ood items which noone will eat, made sure other stuff in order and gave away a batch of stuff which we have too much of, don't fancy etc (Inc some free samples and a jar of homemade jam we were given which noone likes the flavour of) Much tidier
1/2 bag of clothes to recycling bin - trousers with holes in, shirt with worn cuffs/ collar, etc
few broken toys
small pile of kiddy magazines (cbeebies type) which toddler has destroyed, so can't pass on but put in recycling
Will hopefully get rid of the builders this week - next week at the latest - yippee!! Can then get on with painting/ tiling/ carpeting etc new rooms ready for us to move into (10 weeks until babe's due date) and then start it all in the other rooms. Will take ages - hubby has new job offer which means he'll be out from 7-7 and will be tired on an evening (new jobs always seem exhausting, even if not physical!) and I'm not much help right now!
I should have some more ins/ outs today (hopefully)

Police phoned at midnight last night (thanks for that!!) - they found some golf clubs locally & wanted to check if they were DH's. I gave a description for the 3rd time (!) and they weren't. Took me ages to get back to sleep.....
Anyway, saw some friends yesterday & went to WI last night, so:
IN:
Pair of jeans & denim skirt for DD from friend's DD
Easter eggs for kids from a friend as their's were taken (aah - nearly had me crying!)
book from friend
nightlight from friend
BN rucksack from friend (have a v similar one which is getting past it and needed to buy a new one, so fab!)
Small amount of money from WI sales
OUT:
BN set of 4 espresso cups/ saucers - sold at WI
Small ornamental jug sold at WI
small game - sold at WI
3 books - sold at WI
some of builders' rubbish (i put as much as i could fit in our bin as it's building up again and annoying me!)
3 items of clothing to charity bag (being collected Monday)
1/2 carrier bag clothes for recycling (lots of pants & socks from kids and a couple of skanky tshirts)
Birthday card to friend
Usual rubbish & recycling collected by refuse men today
Pile of books lent to a friend (so only out temporarily)
Want to tackle something 'large' at weekend - but not sure what! Have lots of toddler activities and a midwife appt today, so don't think I'll get anything done today. May attempt some filing tonight (think the filing pile is decluttered - just needs actually filing now!!)

Greent, sorry to hear about your burglary. We have been burgled, and the worst thing is knowing someone has been in your house, touching your things.
The way I tried to look at is was that no-one got hurt, and they are only possessions. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
In: food so that won't be staying long! and some stuff OH is sorting out for someone - won't be staying long and we're helping with their decluttering so that can't be bad  (just looks a bit of a mess in our house atm)
