I am having a real problem storing jumpers and cardigans easily and neatly. I fold them up but many of my cardigans are big loungey ones and so bulky - what does everyone else do?

Know what you mean - we wear big bulky jumpers and cardies here in winter because it gets so cold. Rule no. 1 is to keep only the ones you will really wear (not the ones your Mum knitted in 1963 and have become sentimental items... I know that's hard, though!).
Secondly, I now have plastic under-bed storage bins (from Ikea) for the jumpers and keep them in those vacuum bags you can buy, where you put the jumpers in and then suck the air out with your vacuum cleaner. Got them in Lidl and Aldi, and they really make a difference in the bulk!

Wondered about these, what are the clothes like (especially wollens) when you take them back out ?

They are totally fine, charlies_mum. I do take care they are clean and thoroughly dry before 'vacuuming' them, though. Also use this system now for surplus quilts, duvets and pillows - I was a little worried about it at first as well, but it really works and saves loads of space.

The vacuum packs are GREAT I completely agree, but I need a storage solution that I can use everyday over winter - you know you might need to wear the bulky ones esp. a couple of times before washing and to keep breaking and resealing the packs....the vacuum will become a bedroom fixture .... prob, not for the right reason :rotfl: !!...
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Woo Hoo!!!! All 26 items on ebay have sold :D:D:D Now just to get the payments in... However, there are several buyers which have bought several things (inc 1 overseas buyer) so I need to sort the stuff, package it and reweigh to let them know the shipping costs..... One of teh buyers has also emailed me to see if I have anything else similar which I want to sell - and I do, and she's interested in some of that too - yippee!!

Wonder how well the stuff I'm going to take to NCT later will sell tomorrow..... I'm hoping to sell half of it.

Have got rid of a Trivial Pursuit game on freecycle this week and 2 very old and tatty board games (mine from when I was a child) got recycled where they could/ plastic bits binned.

Also out: broken cutlery tray thing from dishwasher and broken kick plate from fridge freezer. 2 yicky full carbon fat filter things from cooker hood.

    IN:
    groceries (not many)
new cutlery tray for dishwasher & kickplate for fridge freezer. New carbon fat filter things for extractor hood.

I have some space on shelves in the garage as a result of ebaying! WOOT!!

I seem to be managing to bring things in rather than get rid of them atm! oops :o

I'm going to blitz paperwork tonight - receipts, filing, update electricity, water and gas readings, which will sort out my desk and my finances at the same time (I hope ) may spill in to tomorrow too.

Also all my mystery shopping paperwork and my spreadsheet need sorting out - so I think that is this weekend's tasks!

I'll report back on Sunday :o

You're all so inspiring. I do get rid of stuff...then I replace them with other things. I really need to get motivated this weekend so I can achieve something-even if it's just organising stuff so it's tidy if I can't part with it as quick as I'd like. So I intend to report back next week (hopefully I'll have made some positive steps now I've told everyone of my intentions!!!!)
