  • if you're having trouble with sorting through old stuff taking forever and getting nowhere with your clutter then what I did was get a box and put all the bits of paper together in the box so I could keep going with the sorting. Then it's all in one place and when the other stuff is sorted you can go through the box and decide whether to keep it or not. If people pop round etc in the meantime you just have one box of mess instead of lots of piles of stuff.

I've tons of old photos that were in several shoeboxes until I got time to sort them out. Have decided to part with random scenery shots of who knows where and pics of my evil ex - because he still makes me feel sick - the rest are going in albums at some point!

I've just been throwing out rubbish.. bags and bags and bags of rubbish

I have a cooker to go and a tumble dryer now.. but they are being replaced with more of the same.

The kitchen I disposed of 2 binbags of opened and unusbale food after we had a fire in there.. hence the cooker went to.

Boxes and bags of cardboards packaging has been disposed of..

I have a box of crockery to go to charity shop and a binbag of clothes and toys.. and a hideous pot doll.. I hate those things!

I am aming to do 1 binbag a day for charity shop until next Saturday.. that should make room for the stuff everyone got for christmas!

well after a day off yesterday to celebrate a friend's birthday im back on the straight and narrow today. i really need to do 2 things off of my list to 'break even' as i did nothing yesterday.

ive done a washload and tidied some bits away, anything to make our bedroom look a bit less like a bombsite!

ive started sorting out my resources. need to sort, purge, amend, back up and create some kind of filing system for them.

after that... i think im going to suck it and see what kind of mood im in before chosing what my next task will be (then i can't use not fancying it as an excuse to slack off)

Having fallen back into the 'cluttered zone' I'm now making an effort..............small it may be but its a start.

Cleared out card making stuff in the drawer and generally tidied it up -gave some bits to neighbours daughter, the rest recycle bin.:j

Tidied up history folders, cleared out some other folders -more for recycle bin.:j

Next is computer desk drawers - full of 'stuff' I printed out -not sure what
Then the wicker baskets under kneehole of comp. desk - whats in them I wonder ?

Thats for tomorrow -can't face it today.

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Kids new toys are put away neatly, but I have several broken/ripped bits that need finding a 'home'- fortunatley it is black bin for next 2 weeks and kids will be back at school next week.;)

In my 'drinks cabinet' I have some small amounts of martini, mango liquer, melon liquer and honey rum that all need finishing off to create space, so I sent dh to get some mixers to go with them and they can be used up tomorrow night when friends visit. All the interest of de-cluttering of course.:p

WahHay! Still feel as if I'm on holiday - retirement will sink in next week when school starts without me (feeling quite scared about that actually!) and then... no more excuses for not decluttering! Has taken me literally days and days of shredding to make my school office feel ready for the new head - but that's nothing to all that awaits me here at home! Under the stairs is first on the list.....watch this space!
