Plum Pie, so sorry to hear about your job. Hopefully a the temp agengy will find you something soon. Are you registered with many agencies? When I was temping I was signed up to about 10.

JB That cake is wonderful. Well one

Shaz I'm drooling over your cabbage and tomatoes.
I had an awful last last night. I was in a lot of pain, so took double the amount of pills and was knocked out for 12 hours! Felt a bit better today so have done a little tidying. Going to put the radiator foil on then stop and rest up for the rest of the day.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

    Hi,

I didn't get too far with the indexing, adding about 20 more recipes before a big nap! I think time at the screen wears me out a bit at the mo, so I shall do little chunks!

Back at work tomorrow, so a bit scared about how I'll cope without my daily nap I've been enjoying most days :o.

Shaz, the curry sauce in your soup, was that the asda smartprice one? I'll do the costings if you like...

    Love Weezl x

Weezle, I was all set to tell you that you said the gnocchi fed four and it only fed us two - piggys!

Then I read you felt tired and nauseous and it all came flooding back. Going to bed straight from work I'd never felt that tired before!

The gnocchi was very good - thank you for the recipe. Did you really make those lovely little balls in the piccy - You will soon feel much better and start to glow.

I have had a good day today. I worked with my hubby for a few hours. he is a window Cleaner. one of his customers I got on really well with and she ended up giving me a carrier bag full of Apples from her tree :D hen I popped into the local Coop (to his work, There isn;t one near to us) and picked up half price courgettes. I know they are normally very expensive but we LOVE them and don;t have anywhere to grow anything after moving when we got married last year to the City. I picked those up and BOGOF Blocks of Cheese (which we STILL seem to eat a bit of) 2 small loaves of bread for 15p in the going out of date section. Anyway I was quite pleased with our day :T

Shaz ~ Thanks for the curry soup idea! Will Try that tomorrow. I love posts like that. they give you idea's too don;t they?! Also I Loved the Pics  They are great! I think They were from you?! can;t really remember now.....sorry!

Thanks also to Diva for the Idea's with Mash! I adore Mash sooo much on its own. infact any kind of potato ;);) but your other idea's for mash are Brill! Thanks so much for that!

Hello Guapa, yes, I'm signed up to 8 agencies, all specific to the kind of work I do.

What a morning! I am having a total mare with DHL over the delivery of my OU course materials - the attempted delivery card contained the WRONG phone number for rearranging delivery AND the card claims items will be kept for 7 days and then returned to sender. Except they kept my parcel for 6 days and sent it back to OUHQ this morning (7th day). I thought I would collect it in person today but when I checked on the website, I discovered it had been returned already. Of course, when I actually managed to speak to a human being over the phone, he was a rude lump.

I would rant for longer, but it's best saved for a letter to DHL head office.

I'm going out for a walk to calm down!
  • Oh Plum Pie, how annoying! I used to love this time of year when I was studying. All those lovely new course books, and because I was doing science, I used to get a tea chest sized box full of experimental kit to poke through as well. And no pressure from assignments due in, nor reading that I should be doing - a shiny new year. You all excited and raring to go?

I thought I was going to have the experience of the Asda non-show delivery last night, and after thinking, 'ooh, I never get that, they have been great' after reading about it here. It was due 7pm-9pm and at ten past it still wasn't here, and me and OH were like waiting for a first date (constantly looking out the window and stressing if he was going to turn up or not) but then the delivery chap rang to say he was running behind and would be with us at half past, which he was, and then he said that the delivery charge would be cancelled as he was late - result!

I got quite a bit as I need supplies for this cooking lark I am doing and I had to do a bit of origami to fit it all in the cupboard, but it's all in now. With any luck it will be going out again as sold goods very soon!

Went into my local drop in Tesco re the bread mix which I also have been using. They don't do it there, but I am hoping he will order me some. The nearest bigger store is 12 miles away, and that isn't huge. I don't want to make a special trip and then not get any - defeats the object a bit! And I don't want to do an internet order and incur delivery charges especially as they may not deliver as many as I order, making the delivery charge per item even more

Lesley, yes - I am really excited, like an 8 yr old at Christmas excited! My course website is up so I've had a peak at some of the assigments I'll be doing. The OU staff have already responded to my email and will be resending the course materials next week - such efficiency!

I also splurged on a mini bar of G&B's Maya Gold choc from the work canteen, I have been enjoying nibbling it for an hour. Mmmm.
