Have you seen this low fat fruit cake in the slow cooker?

Seems like it might be more frugal than the boiled fruit cake??? Haven't tried it out yet but it's on my to do list...

ww-wise this whole receipe is 34pts but not sure how many slices you would from that. What do you reckon Weezl? Basically a Bara Brith. Yum yum

I figure foil topped loaf tin and if that doesn't fit in my slow cooker then I'm going to be trying a casserole dish with a lid :o

Thought you might like it - I was sorting my recently printed recipes and noted the similarities between that and the boiled fruit cake.... ;)

Mmm, all sounds yummy. We have a slow cooker in our house but haven't really made a lot in it to be honest, might have to start!
I planted some more seeds yesterday, carrot, spring onion and more rocket, I figure plants that grow underground will be moveable in their pots, hope I'm right! I had to pull up some of the teeny tiny lettuce and rocket plants to thin them but I felt like a big evil giant doing it, is that just me or do other people get guilt when thinning their seedlings :(

I feel guilty but added the thinnings to salads - read something about posh rich people having micro diets where they eat really young salad leaves as they have a higher concentration of vitamins and stuff in them - so thought why not just bung them in with my salad ;)

Lol, the phrase 'more money than sense' springs to mind. Mine are in the fridge awaiting being eaten. I think my idea of sowing sparingly is different from the technical gardening definition... :D

    MORNING ALL!

oops caps lock on, i'll stop shouting now!

have just made a pea and smokey bacon soup in the slo-cooker, 12p per very generous helping!

got a 500g marrowfat peas for 25p in a wholefood store, reduced cos it was out of date :money:so I cooked half the bag with 4 rashers of smokey bacon and blitzed.

    nomnomnomnomnomnom.

    shaz, how was the exam?;)

isom, if it helps budget-wise you can flog me any left over paint and nitromors from the bedside cabinet?:D

    love weezl xxx
