Yep - I might offer myself - being a cleaner that is our Weezl if I was nearer - but 'fraid I'd be charging the going rate anyways - so thats £8-£10 per hour.

Blimey we're all in the wrong profession if you can get people to pay 8-10 an hour for cleaning!!!

  • yep it would seem C that you are right - going rate between 8 & 10 an hour...makes me laugh though as I've had over a decade of f/t education and here I am back cleaning loos!!! No complaining mind as keeps me out of mischief - just amuses my wee brain! CFC you could be right though...!!
Am v. proud of myself as todays pud is invented by me...one thing that weezl has gifted me is more courage making things up in cookery dept!!
Ceridwen...re babies...let the poor girl sprog the first one eh!! Dreadto think what your analytical brain would come up with in my posts!! Lots of flitting!!
Did anyone see Victorian farm this wk? They cooked a piggy head and unlike weezl who fried her brains they poached theirs AND ate the eyes...could hardly watch and spent much time going eeeewwww from behind my hands!! Mind you do love those piggies....baby ducks, chooks and lambs....

.....on t'other hand - as I understand it - they have to cover their own tax and holidays and sick pay and pension and insurance (or do without it)/there is no redundancy pay if the "job" goes and they are only likely to be working on a (very) part-time basis anyway....

Add the fact that a lot of people wouldnt want to be cleaners .....

Add the fact that if one wanted several hours worth of work per day then it would likely mean walking/biking/bussing/whatever to and from work on 2 "round" trips per day - rather than the standard 1 "round" trip (so one of those "round" trips would be just extra time getting to/from work - out of ones leisure time).

I dont think people will be forming a queue for cleaning jobs...

REET - back to the cooking tips: anyone know what else I can do with leftover cooked cabbage and potatoes other than colcannon?

here ya go c but without the meat as seem to think youre one of them there vegetarians?!! bbc food has a good put in ingredients (ie pots and abb) and it comes up with them there ideals!

ison scurries off realising time and that she needs to suss out how to roast the pork without setting fire to house, over or undercooking whilst in church!!

Errrr.....comes in looking little "shamefaced" - seems I mighta overdone the ceridwen "straightforwardness" in me last post.....errr.....whooops.......sorreee.....if I didnt phrase it very well..:o

......I do try and forget sometimes the comment that was made about me on an unkinder Board than this one t'other day (eerrrr....."1970s trade unionist" as I recall.......).

I'll put me placard aways back in the cupboard - along with t'broomstick....(nope...I dont really have a broomstick.....but a crystal ball on the other hand....which I'll get to grips with one of these fine days...).
  • Did you take the trade unionist comment as a compliment though C?!!...thought youd be proud of that me lovely!! Sure you havent got a broomstick at all...

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ...well....some people might think I take off on "flights of fancy" once in a while (theres certainly a poster who loves to hate me on another Board thats for sure........ )....but those are the only ones me lovely....

Errr....though I've been asked more than once if I'm a Pagan......never mind asked....frequently greeted as one.....the jury is still out on that one....I couldnae tell you myself the answer to that one one way or the other.....:D ...it doesnt unduly concern me whether I "stick a label" on myself or no...maybe/maybe not/who knows?

It does depend on where you stick the label!
