    Bleurghhh! Is anyone else suddenly seriously depressed?

    (Diva, you have a really good excuse hun and I send you even more hugs and feel quite selfish for feeling like I do at the moment)
    • I'm tired (didn't sleep particularly well last night) and totally non-motivated.
    • I've had another two people and desks and their clutter move into the tiny office I'm in and you can hardly move let alone concentrate because of people popping in and gabbing, banging their chairs against yours etc. etc.
    • The weather is carp. I feel like it's February it's so cold and dark and it seems ages since we had some decent sunshine (I suffer from SADS on a very mild level). I really feel I'm solar powered and my batteries are drained.
    • The news on the financial markets and inflation is worrying. When I, in my dumb blonde and senior-disabled brain way analyse it - even though Lehmann Bros has gone into admin and the banks are suffering - the fat cats at the top are still doing very nicely thank you very much. There are also a lot of people making money on the stock market by selling short, causing things to drop further. It's the little people at the bottom, like you and me, who will really suffer.
    • Oil has dropped a considerable amount per barrel. Will petrol pump prices go down? Will they heck!
    There we are, that's off my chest. On the bright side, I've just poured a medicinal G&T and have a nice beef stew bubbling away in the oven....

    Better go and empty the dishwasher I suppose..

    Evening all and hugs to everyone but especially Soappie and Diva.

    You really can tell the season has changed, the cats started asking for their dinner 30 minutes early - sure it was because their little body clocks thought it is getting dark. I used my lumie light alarm clock for the first time this autumn this morning to make getting up easier.

    In case anyone is interested there is a lot of info about Vit D and our health. We usually top our levels up over summer but we may not have done this year. I'm sure Ted will have some posts.

    Swimming run done. Tea done. Hot spot very nearly done.

    Going to do DS3 reading and get him to bed whilst the other two start homework, packing bags for school tomorrow.
    The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Hi everyone:hello:
    Long time no speak. Our internet connection has been playing up for weeks now so I've got no idea what everyone is up to. Hope everyone is well and :grouphug: to anyone that needs them.
    I had a small setback after the nerve blocks in my back and suffered a bit of a reaction to the drugs which made me feel carp but it seems to have settled now and I've not had to take any medication for a few weeks. DS had to have another operation and DD is off school ill at the moment.
    House isn't looking too bad considering the lack of attention it has had. I actually cleaned the windows today which has made a big improvement.
  • Don't know how I've stayed awake today, as have been so tired lately, although have been topping up with iron tablets, so glad somethings working...:rolleyes:

    I think you're right Dusty and Soappie - The news at the moment is just so miserable everywhere you look, and lack of sunshine is a definite mood killer and we've had awful weather this year - it's not the rain, but the dark and grey skys that get me down... DeniseNZ - can we all come and join you? :D

    Still, today seem to have had a rocket put up my backs*de and haven't stopped - few things still left, but really chuffed with what I've accomplished today... last few things done today and now I'm watching Enders (if I wasn't depressed enough :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

  • Diva - hugs for you

    Sorry it's rubbish for you babes! Families are so power-packed with emotions aren't they. I wish we could wave a magic wand and fix it for you.

    For what's it's worth, sometimes when a person is so strong in their wrong, there's nothing left to do but walk away, however painful that is. Good luck chick. Try to count the blessings you do have, and not lament the bad.
    xxxxxxxx's to you.

  • I'm so with you flower and Soappie I hate the rubbish weather. I love a good cold winter, when I've had a good hot summer. Instead we seem o have this amalgamated wet, grey dirge of a non-season constantly.
    ~~~~blows raspberry~~~~~~
    G&B was it you who said something about a full moon??? Last full moon saw half the women on here rowing with their partners!! Seems like this month sees us all down in the dumps about life in general... carp!!
    Hi everyone
    Im sorry Ive not been in-only got back close to 6. I did get loads done before I left at 2. Have to start on the kitchen again soon as DF decided to cook for me tonight:rotfl: Will post my list next.
    I have done my catch up post, hope you're ready for it:
    Serena Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time at school
    Mudbath and Boddy The children?
    Julie How did your weigh in go?
    Vanilla Well done on passing your course, how are you feeling?
    Denisefowler I promise not to always be too nice:)
    Zed42 Are you enjoying your haircut?
    Sexymouse about OH’s boxes... I bought myself some collapsible crates from the pound store-£2.50 each. In my case I have three of them stacked on my desk (pilates kit, sewing and “office in a box”) How ‘bout picking up a few and then “try to move his cardboard ones-oops, it ripped”. I like them as they have these sides that swing in if you pack them right so they work very much like drawers-and they’d stack nicely in a corner without being hugely sore on the eyes.
    Liuhut hope you feel better soon
    Kazwookie Send me some too please:(
    SS YAY about your mum noticing-you must be very proud of yourself
    Kaat_Lady You should be going slow, but you gave me an idea-we have one of those “special household goods” stores down the road-otherwise Im giving up until we come to visit granddad again :)
    Diva Im so sorry hun- don’t give up-just be patient and try intermittently. I know its not the same but my brother and I parted ways when we lost my mum, I took it very hard as he is a hero in my eyes. I gave him his space and took a chance on inviting him to DS’s birthday this year. Its like 10 years just doesn’t exist and he’s been my side all along. Keep you in my prayers for the same result.
    SSC-good to have you back
    Dustykitten- your mention of Vit D made me remember (and considering your SADS Soappie(Hugs)), In addition to alot of our emotional stuff it also helps build an appetite. I discovered this when we moved here. In SA both DS and I were constantly out in the sun (he was swimming at two and a half months everyday),when we got here we both lost a horrendous amount of weight and later discovered it was vitamin D that we were lacking.
    Evening everyone.
    Been to see mum and then did my meeting and greeting.
    Beany bet DH is so pleased to get his cast off. Once he has had some physio it will be much better.
    Dusty Hope Ds is ok and that sounds good being able to take the cast off yourselves.
    Diva Big hugs on the way. It must be so heartbreaking for you.
    Soappie I think the weather is depressing everyone. We have had hardly any sunshine to lift our spirits. We seem to have come into the dark nights so quickly. Dont get me started on the fat cats and their bonuses.
