Had a lazy afternoon as was off work so made the most of it and just lay on the bed all afternoon ll....got up and found I had stuff in to make Corn beef hash so that's made but I'm going food shopping to Asda shortly as the cupboards are bare, DD1 will meet me there from work for a lift back. Littleys off to a birthday party and teenies out somewhere.

My feet are freeeeeeeeezing, time to dig out the fluffy socks and slippers methinks, it's certainly not summer anymore where did it go.

House is still a pigsty really but I did summon up some energy to do the kitchen and surprisingly it's still clean after making the tea (that's a first) mind you no-one's eaten yet. Had a squiffy through the cupboards to see what was what and flung some ancient things out didn't clean it though, G&B I found some Lea & Perrins in the cupboard and I thought of you, because you were the one that told me to use it in my mince & dumplings lol

Anyway best shut the pc down (after Blondie's 'Atomic' has finished - isn't that the most sexiest song EVER) then get my list and head out

Just finished the dishes and S&Sing the kitchen. Dinner was yummy and have 3 extra meals to freeze for 'easy' meals.

Gosh thank you - you are all so kind

It's a long story and I actually wrote out a really long post detailing it all but then felt I couldn't post it, but here goes...

A small part of it is that my mother has not spoken to me in two years and because of that I have not seen my nephews for 9 months either which hurts with every fibre of my being.

About two weeks ago I rang and held out yet another olive branch and left two messages on her answerfone. Today I spoke to a mutual friend and without me knowing he had tried to intercede on my behalf as he knows how painful all this is, but all he could say was that she was really intransigent and that she wasn't interested in having me back in her life and that when she hears my voice on the machine she deletes without listening.

I guess it has just taken the last bit of hope away that I had. I wish I could explain it all in detail, but I am not sure it would make sense. My mother is a real matriach and what she says goes, so appealing to my sister has met with no joy either.

I am sorry. I guess I thought maybe with her birthday coming up and my latest answerphone messages, she might have been softening so to hear she is as closed down as ever has really upset me.

MSD, I'm so sorry to hear that - I can only imagine not having that contact with my mum and nieces, and how upsetting that would be, even though she drives me MAD sometimes. Hugs to you honey...

Never give up hope though, My uncle, who has the final say on everything and no-one ever changes his mind, wouldn't speak to my cousin for about 5 years when she was with a certain fella (who she is still with now after about 20 years) - it took an event like my dad dying to make him realise life is too short not to see your family and although he wouldn't have him in the house at first (it was a race thing incase you haven't guessed as he [STRIKE]was[/STRIKE] is a real biggot) they are now best of friends.

I've finally got broadband in my new house! Hurrah!!! I've missed you all, but will have to limit my time online. Today was my first day at uni as well. I'm terrified, but excited at the same time. I'm sooooooo old. I was sitting beside 2 lovely girls this morning. I'm old enough to be their Mum!! They was so nice to me and I actually knew something techie that they didnt.

Anyhoo, love to you all. I hope everyone is well and I'll catch up with you all soon xx
