Polka - big hugs for you and your parents, it really is a tough situation
Soappie - that's how I felt when there were diaries on the counter in next last week - I said I've still got 1/4 of this year's left!

Going to make the gingerbread next and then finish the last thing to machine.

Folder is looking good, just needs a touch of hand sewing and I've started the ebay photos.

  • Soappie - there were choc santas, snowmen, candy canes, etc. in the supermarket today! I missed out that aisle!!

Hugs to Johanne, Polka and Sexymouse and anyone else who needs one.

I seem to have been up for hours. I showered, washed and dried my hair, got dressed, had breakfast, put one load of washing on the line and another in the machine, washed up and did all my daily clicks BEFORE church!! This is unheard of - I'm usually have trouble just getting myself ready in time!

After church, I went shopping and to dad's, got petrol (3p a litre cheaper than last week :D ), put out the 2nd load of washing after bringing in the 1st, and cleaned the bathroom.

Was going to do more but my arm is hurting so I'd better not push it. The front room is a tip but my bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are looking loads better - thanks to you lot and this thread :D

    Afternoon Flymates

ooh the mysterious occasional pain in my RH side has returned with a vengeance - 4 hours now - I'm beginning to wonder if I have a grumbling appendix...
And I have had to taks DS to football near J27 M1 - pain started after I got there...
They lost BUT DS scored the 1st goal (final was 3-2) and it's the teams 1st goal of the season (and I didn't see it - had gone to get coffee flask out of car...)
Ooh its going now - thank goodness.
Neighbours have just told me the policeman stabbed in N. Derbys (10times!) Thursday is their good mate who I have met.
He is recovering - he's a big bloke!

OMG how awful, that just made me shiver, glad to see you posted that he is recovering. It's the first I have heard of it but then I have not had time to watch/read any news, how did it happen?

jjef - I think it may have been me with the lemon drizzle cake.

6oz butter or margarine Icing: 1 lemon, juice
    6oz sugar 4oz granulated sugar
    6oz flour
    3 eggs
    grated rind of 1 lemon

Make the usual Victoria sponge recipe, adding the grated rind of the lemon to the flour ( I usually sift the flour into the bowl, then grate the lemon on top, and mix together.) I cook mine in a swiss roll type tin, lined with greaseproof paper, or sometimes in the ring mould I also have. Mix the squeezed lemon juice with the 4oz of sugar, and pour over the cake as soon as you take it out of the oven. Leave to set. It's best if left overnight, when the sugar is all crispy, and the cake is very lemony.

I haven't done very much today - coffees after church took up most of the morning, then making lunch, washing up...

After, checked over the lessons for this week to make sure that I had everything I needed. Actually, I'm still supposed to be doing that! I can't concentrate today, as I've got the sore throat thingy and am steadily feeling worse, but I still intend going in tomorrow. I'm planning on breathing over all the students who behaved badly last week.:D

    Will catch up tomorrow pm.
