have made and eaten cheese on toast for lunch, and watered the plants, so now I'm gonna have an hour watching last night's casualty then I might tackle the bedroom.
Am not dressed yet, enjoying a pj day but kind of think a bath/shower and getting dressed might make me feel a bit brighter. the weekend seems to have shot by...Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Hi everyone
Gosh I didn't realise it was that late! Did my dailies before we went out to church this morning.DS slept in my bed with me last night (stuffy nose and couldn't settle) so he was nice and cosy while I got that done.
Went to co-op after church and got some croissants and a bag of mini continental cheeses. Yummy.
Started having a read through of my first BL task:j But now I cant decide if I should just read off the lappy and use google notes or if I should ask DF to print it off for me.
I also did more work on the BR last night and so I have about 5 tiles left to do today:T
Will post an updated list soon.
Soappie Very brave of your nephew. I worked at a camp in Ohio just out of school and despite how much fun it is, it takes the foreigners a lot of work to "get accepted as one of us" iyswim.
Everyone else has done really well on the flying front.
We had more drama here last night...at about midnight there were sirens and lights all up and down the road-all kinds. DS was asleep so I took the keys and went down stairs coz I could hear next door yelling about something burning. On the corner, about two houses down, a car had exploded! I had heard it but thought it was fireworks (Im always thinking fireworks are something else and getting worked up about it). Turns out there were two people in the car when it happened and one was still very conscious. When we went to church the police were still down there working and asking people questions.Seems they suspect some foul play...and then even scarier...my dad called...how did I miss such big news...Mr Mbeki was forced to resign (apparently because of his role in bringing charges against Zuma)...its the worst case scenario we've all hoped we would not face...but with a new president who walks out of any "victorious situation" singing "get me my machine gun"...staying in the country does not bode well for the likes of my parents.(oops, sorry. Didn't mean to rant-but very concerned.)0 -
Seeing your dictionary pigpen, I thought of a few of our own:
bogolaise - spaghetti bolognaise
squiggles - squirrels
hocum pops - cocoa pops
I've got a flat - my shoelace is undone
rudeboy tea - rooibos (redbush) tea
electrics - currants
pillies - pillows
bobash - deodorant
I'm sure there must be more - incidentally, most of these are things my OH says, and he's just wierd, so quite often I have to get him to translate what he means, particularly on shopping lists. lol
This made me think of some of the words the twins used to use for stuff when thet were little:
do do lat lat - hammer
fat - saw
And my OH's dad was broad yorkshire and used to come out with some right sayings such as:
Put t'wood in t'ole lass
My OH mum used to say to my OH when he was annoying her
"OOh you p*ss me dry!
And when some fella tried to chat her up she said "If your ars* was hung with diamonds, I wouldn't be interested!" - she was 65 at the timeTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
[strike]Morning[/strike] oops afternoon
Back from work and it really wasn’t worth me being there so I got a little bit ahead for tomorrow.
Filled up with fuel to save time tomorrow and then nipped into matalan as I had a £5 voucher that needed using up today so bought DS a new quilt and some more bedding. Also Morrisons as I needed to get a colour run remover as managed to wash my favourite bright yellow undie set with a load of jeans on a hot wash !!!!
Came in and OH has cleaned up the kitchen of all the mess I left so plan is- [STRIKE]Catch up on here[/STRIKE] - done
- Make late lunch
- Finish washing
- ½ hour in DD’s room as I promised her some help
- iron all school and work stuff ready for the week
- Make lunches for tomorrow
- Bag up meat and bread bought yesterday for freezing
- sink some wine with OH
Hugs Johanne – I cant get ANYTHING done when my OH is at home so know where you’re coming from
Polkadot – massive hugs for your dear parents
Massive well done to all those achieving today, I’m now off to make a start
TTFNMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
