I have an outset fire at the moment on a sort of hearth. I do not have a mantle.
If I bought an inset fire would I need a mantle?
It is easier to buy another outset fire and get it fitted than get an inset and get a fireplace etc?

Not entirely sure what it is you want
The opening would have to be checked to see if its suitable for an inset fire....I would assume it is. You need about 50mm gap from the back of the fitted fire to the back of the builders opening.
You can get slimline inset fires if there is insufficient room. But always choose the standard sized fire if possible.
Having a mantle is your choice. Most have it...some dont.
