Check out travelzoo.com loads of cheap offers and sign up for their weekly top 20 email,nearly always something good on there.
I paid £1,100 for 4 of us in the May half term for 5* all inc in Corfu and it was fabulous!I'msure you can find something cheap in October.Also check out qwerty travel.Good luck

its half term in scotland the first 2 weeks in october, so if you are going later in the month then maybe look to fly from scotland? we've just booked to go to turkey through first choice AI but will fly from birmingham to avoid the extra prices flying from glasgow during half term
