If money is really tight I suggest you look at Turkey, you will get better value from your spending money than a euro country.
And its still near enought for the tickets to be cheap.0 -
Thank you for the reply. Turkey has not been on option we have looked at, will take a look just want somewhere not going to cost a fortune and somewhere warm so children can play on beach etc0

I would try DIY look which routes the cheap airlines do from your local airports, check out the cheapest day to fly(wed?tues) usually. Then try holiday rentals for cheap self catering apts or even villas. I am positive you will bring it in much cheaper than your quote.
For example you can fly to Girona from Newcastle on 6/10 for £48 pp returning 20/10. There are some nice resorts around here Sitges,Bay of Roses etc I am sure a villa will be available with pool for around £250 per week.0 -

I have just looked on www.alpharooms.com for tenerife for you - but it is around the same price. I should think going at the begining of October will be cheeper to avoid the half term.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

thanks everyone
Don't really want to do DIY as taking the children and want to use reputable sompany iykwim0 -
I supppose it could be a bit daunting to DIY if it is your first time, but the savings are really worth giving it a try. We have stayed at the Apt Bonaire in Cala Bona and it is great for families, and that is a great price. If you stick with a package then I guess the price you quoted will be about the going rate.0
-
Yep im afraid if its a package you want the prices are going to be similar to what the travel agent quoted you."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

thanks i will get hubby to have a go as scared will miss something.
May try greece and see what their prices are like, the guy in the shop did nto seem to want to help looking there for me0
