we have had alot of customers over the past few days where we have been able to help them out etc... the majority booked on net etc and all saying they will not book their holidays online again... so we may see travel agents being more popular again'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

To put my pennies in the ring I would have to agree that Travel Agents are a dying breed but there will always be a certain level of demand for them.
Most travellers have become more sophisticated in their travels and don't want the chaff holidays that a lot of agents push. I never want to go to a sun/sea/beach holiday because I'd hate to waste my time sunbathing when I could explore and enrich my life and that of my chlildren.
The last time I used a Travel Agent was when I was 17 and went on a £79 one week puke-athon holiday to Benitses. I have tried to use TA's a few times since but I've never been confident in their ability to source what I want and where I want. As a traveller I'm very particular about where I want to stay in relation to sights. I don't want a TA pushing some other hotel because the commission is better for them over my needs.
Also it is great fun putting together your own package of flights, hotel and car hire. Of course it could blow up in my face but I do so with the knowledge that I am insured to the hilt and have enough financial leverage to overcome any mishaps that might occur.
Saving money isn't the ultimate goal for me in having a holiday. Of course I will search for thee cheapest deal for each sector I am looking at.The man without a signature.0 -
i have saved money by not booking with people like you
how many people book with companies from teletext every year and these companies are not well known etc but people have same holiday as if they had booked with known names but a lot cheaper:money:
nice holiday it was too:beer:
we on here(mse) know your name and companies you work for can't see anyone booking/recommending a holiday with you:D
you want your dummy back:rotfl:Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -
Thanks Pingu.............I'm sure the whole Co-Op Travel Group will crumble......:rotfl:0

I know others have already suggested this, but could I again suggest that we just ignore TRAVELMAN and let this thread drop off the front page?Gone ... or have I?0
