i have offered to help a group called little love, they are a group which make knitted and sewn clothes for premature and still born babies, this is a subject that is close to my heart as on mother day this year my son ryan was still born at 40 weeks, this group make clothes and blankets for these babies as you cant buy clothes this small in the shops for babies born early, they make the clothes and give them to hospitals for the babies they are given free of charge. i would love to be able to help these these families and there babies,
so this is where you lovely ladies and men come in, i was wondering if any of you had any scraps of material, wool, ribbon or knitting neddles, you would be willing to post to me,or that i could pick up if you live in orpington as you can imagine a hat for baby who is born at 24 weeks does not need a lot of wool , so any amount would be greatfully recieved. i know im asking alot. but i really want to help and the more wool, and material i can get the more i can make
thanks for reading and i have my fingers crossed
thanks maria, joshua and mia- emily

Hi Maria,
Sorry to hear of your loss.
Can you ask on your local freecycle? if you explain it is for charity then you may get a huge response.
I will have a dig in my unit and see if I have ribbons for you. I know I have no materiel and definately don't have any wool however I will ask my family for you aswell.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
thanks rusty, i have asked on my freecycle but got no response, thanks for the quick reply, that was very speedy

Hi maria, I don't have materials as such but I'd be more than happy to knit up a couple of items and send on to you for you to give, if that's any good?
Let me know.
Sorry to read your post, heartbreaking doesn't even come close.0 -
hi maria, sorry to hear of your loss xxx
contact your local paper - they might provide the publicity you need and the materials you need may come flooding in - you could even organise a knit-a-thon or something -
good luck in your quest x0 -

No problems maria, would these be okay - this website is purely for charitable use for mainly preemie babies

I have some blanket squares that I knit already just needs to be sewn up. If you let me know what size I'll put it together. http://s161.photobucket.com/albums/t204/soblivion/?action=view¤t=100_0442.jpg
If it's okay.
I'm sure I have a prem cardie v-neck pattern here somewhere, I'll let you know.
Don't be afraid to say if you don't like.0 -
thanks that is fine and would be great, although i think the blankets wouldn't be aloud the to have the holes as the premature babies may get there little fingers of ventilator tubes stuck, but on saying that they should be ok for still born babies, as a guide we were told blankets should be about 20" square, or slightly bigger for bigger babies
sorry i feel like im being a right pain in the behind !!!!

On the Old Style board there is a section called "Knit a square to gve your share" and a group of people who are knitting things for hospials and premature babies.
If you post on there I am sure someone could help."This site is addictive!"
