What they're saying (by not actually saying it :D ) is that they charge £5 if you pay by Paypal.

Which is of course a surcharge whichever way you look at it, so worth a report to ebay.

They won't know it's you, or any others of us that have submitted reports!

However, ebay are unlikely to do anything about it though, but that's life.

erm, it's a discount whichever way you look at it! And the discount only applies if you pay the seller by CHEQUE.. They don't apply the discount for postal orders or paypal.

reporting this to ebay does nothing more than waste time which could be better spent finding and removing scams.

the silliest thing I've ever read on these forums..

Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion. However, it could be considered a a scam in a way by having something in the small print that induces a buyer to use a payment method that offers no protection, as opposed to using a payment method that has some protection. Also, if the seller can offer a £5 postal discount for cheques they must be overcharging for post and packing in the first place which is fee avoidance and also against ebay policies.

Whilst I honestly don't think ebay will do anything about it they are usually quite hot on sellers that charge more for using paypal than for using a cheque, hence the ebay policies on surcharging.

I'm with you on this one.;)

I think that reporting someone for something so trivial is a bit petty when you consider the amount of REAL scams going on via eBay - if someone were to start reporting every single listing where there was a possibility that it may have breached one of eBay's many rules & regulations on a technicality, then it would take you for ever (and all the REAL scammers would still be out there doing their thing !!!!!!)
