I second this request
Well phoned about Millie today and she has been to vets re teeth and is on antibiotics, after reading about greyhounds teeth appear to be a problem for most ex racing greys. Anyhow she is now reserved to me and am trying to arrange a home visit and then she can come and see if she likes us and wants to stay with me (hope she does).
Have got a week off work next week so am going to arrange it for then so everyone time to adjust. Oh and am off to buy greyhounds for dummies tomorrow to give us both the best possible start. Just hope local waterstones have a copy.
Thanks for all the great input and am loving the piccies
Just watched video Awwww think I am in love all over again especially where he laid down at the endp.s love ur garden

This is Speedy who was having a snooze until I bothered him to take a picture. Love the other pictures - and the video too!
Soo pleased everything went to plan. The house visit will be a bit stressful so make sure you have some cheese or a bit of sausage as a extra special treat. Speedy was totally unimpressed with the biscuit I offered him when he first visited. If you have a week off make sure you do go out without her or when you go back to work it will be a big shock for her.
Greyhounds for Dummies is usually cheaper on Amazon if you get a used one (usually just a bit battered and not used at all) Jan Fennell's Dog Listener is also worth reading.. You make it up as you go along though and if something works - stick to it..

Thanks! shes a lovely looking dog. But then I am biased
Murphy is a good looking dog too but black dogs are so hard to photograph I can never get a real good headshoto photo. That and he never keeps still long enough! I do have 2 though ...
(sorry, I love showing off my hounds) :rotfl:0 -
Hi
Well the home visit is arranged for Saturday and if all goes well Millie will be coming to lodge for two weeks. Then hopfully (sp sorry) she will be staying forever.
Up to now I have cheese for bribary and coruption purposesand a quilt to use as a bed for her in the short term. As at the moment she is all skin and bones due to being stressed from kennels. Also can be washed in case of accidents due to new environment.
Have also ordered greyhounds for dummies book from Amazon managing to get it for £5.75 with postage and packaging, so am managing to be MSE as well lol! (thanks slimcilla)

Well done! :T
It really would be worth your time registering on a forum.
Lurcher Link and Greyhound Gap are both great sites and both offer really good friendly advice and banter about all types for sighthounds.
