That's not stupid its moneymaking- when you finish the 25 new books you can ebay them and make a profit:p

That's my justification! I don't think they'll be ones I want to keep, although since they're Stephen King I don't think they'll make much money. Then again, even if it's only a few pence each it's a profit.

Oooh I've seen the knitters group in Borders when I've been in there for my book group meeting. I tried to learn to knit a couple of years ago, but found that wool was more expensive than just buying things new (depending on the shops). The main reason I didn't get into it though was fashion. Until woollens with lots of holes and dropped stitches become trendy then there's just no point!

I only get yarns from sale bins unless I have something specific in mind. I've got a whole baby outfit knitted (not sewn up yet though) and am halfway through the back of a jumper. It is more expensive but somehow satisfying to be making my baby's clothes. Plus I can use the left over odds and ends to make a patchwork blanket so I get a freeby out of it

I refresh and nothing happens - five refreshes later and about 10 new messages have been received but I keep getting error 404 or access denied messages.

If I were any good at it I'd probably agree with you that the satisfaction's worth it. I'm just not crafty at all, so I've got loads of admiration for people that are.

  • bloody nora, I've just heard the loudest crack of thunder ever, at the same time as the lightening. It sounded like it was splitting a big piece of wood!

Luc - I'm going to try to. Munching lunch as I type and have the washing up to do but if I can maybe do a couple of hours from 4, that will help a bit.

I am starting to get a tad p'd off with this 7 day a week malarkey. Between now and next March, I've just worked out that with my office job, teaching, AQA and teaching planning I'm easily going to be doing a 50 hour week, even across Christmas as I just do AQA on any days off Ihave (including Christmas Day!)

I'm a wee bit crafty- beading, cardmaking/scrapbooks, kniting, crochet, cross stitch, painting & drawing, woodwork... I've even sold the odd bits.

Trouble is I want to try everything and it gets expensive and takes up a lot of room!

  • Forum site been pretty crap all day....only getting infrequent access.

We are just knitting squares for a winter blanket. I can only cope with one stitch and nothing complicated - add that to the fact I cant afford heating and its a win win LOL
