    You are kidding I hope?

That program was a badly concealed hour long advert for Uswitch.

I thought it was a decent effort.Yes, a bit light on the analysis, but enough for prime time TV.It had a balance between trying to help customers who are not yet into online pricing, some energysaving measures and some heavyweights.

Ann robinson was there but didn't push the Uswitch brand. You and I might know she works for them and they were entitled to some credit.I don't recognise your description of an hour long advert at all.

And not to debunk but Allan Asher is just out of a job so its no wonder he is speaking his mind its just a crying shame he didnt come out with all this while he was still in charge and actually did something about it.

I wondered that as well. However,at the time his brief was complaints against the companies mainly revolving around administration, billing queries etc.Really Ofgem should have been the guardian of prices.

He is certainly letting rip now and I don't blame him.

Nothing in my post you won't find in all the newspapers, and they have not been banned yet. Also I am not a child or childish I am an adult who is angered by high
    gas prices which are unjustified.

Fair enough, I don't read the Daily Sport.:D

Anyone who watched the program would know too if they were paying attention, she was introduced as being from Uswitch and it was probably on a subtitle on the screen too (cant remember) every time it showed someone looking at a computer they were on the Uswitch website.

Also when they were giving the results of the comparison she didnt say anything about first:utility (of course not, she cant switch to them) and the voiceover gave those results after Ann robinson had finished her piece.

And my main point was that 1carmine had said its mainly people who dont make a living from the industry I was just pointing out that one of the main people in the program was from Uswitch.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

That does look suspicious. I think it was Ofgem? that stated on Radio 4 that they found no evidence of a cartel. Hmmm.

Also notice the difference between the red and the green line. These are different prices for gas (for some reason).
Up untill mid september these prices were very similar however after that there was a huge difference between these two price, the biggest ever in the 3 years covered, so what happened there?

What those two different prices acually mean is somewhat irrelevant but you can be sure the price we are being charged is the vastly higher price.

The evidence that there is price rigging going on is overwhelming.

Also what OFGEM appear to have said is that although the accounts were not transparent they could find not evidence of price rigging...well as they could not understand the account they cannot possibly draw that conclusion.

And why are the companies allowed to produce accounts which are not transparent? Without transparence OFGEM is a waste of money there is no reason
for it to exist other than to rubber stamp whatever the suppliers say, so we may as well sack them and save the tax payer some money.

It was interesting hearing what the "Industry heavyweights" had to say, and yes they were highly critical of the industry (and I agreed with most of what they said)

And not to debunk but Allan Asher is just out of a job so its no wonder he is speaking his mind its just a crying shame he didnt come out with all this while he was still in charge and actually did something about it.

Actually he does seem to have been saying this when he was incharge:-

    http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/858444?UserKey=
"Allan Asher, chief executive of Energywatch, said: “Consumers are being bled white and the outlook is for further price shocks.”

Seems like they got rid of him when he spoke up about the overcharging.

    Corrupt Britain.

The problem was neither Ofgem or the government agreed with him so nothing was done.

Fair play to Mr.Asher then.:T He is a knowledgeable and respected authority on the matter.Let's hope he maintains the pressure.

Yes OFGEM's solution seemed to be to switch from one rip-off cartel member to another.
Why those bunch of wasters are not sacked is beyond me.

I have found a bit more data and have updated the graph.

The price falls seem to have reversed for the moment.
