From the last time I was in Leeds, almost a year ago, I was impressed by the wall to wall good restaurants on Greek Street, just up Park Row which is opposite the station.
So just head for Greek Street. You can't miss it...Wagamama on one corner and Wetherspoons on the other.
Wetherspoons is not a restaurant.. it is barely a pub..
wagamama is ok for lunch, but not an evening meal..
/me sobs in the corner as nandos and wetherspoons get recommendations..0 -
Don't sob too much!
Not sure they were meant to be recommendations! I took them as a couple of focal points to pinpoint Greek Street

Thank you. That's exactly what I meant it as. I'm no fan of Wetherspoons.siamese0109 wrote: »Not sure they were meant to be recommendations! I took them as a couple of focal points to pinpoint Greek Street

I will soon be staying in Leeds for a wee while . I'm also looking for decent budget places for a breakfast (less than a £4), snack at lunchtime and somewhere cheap and cheerful at night for decent food (less than £12 for a two-courser if possible) again near the train station. Thanks0

There's an ace noodle/Asian place called Wok On, there's one near the railway station - it's open for lunches and does take away noodles, soups, etc. All less than a fiver and freshly cooked in front of you.0

Should have said - I'm looking for tradition plain fayre sort of stuff ie ie full english for breakfast , nothing too fancy at night .0

We were in Leeds a few weeks ago for a concert at The City Varieties theatre. We wanted a meal before the show and decided on a pizza at Da Marco on Headrow. We were extremely impressed - they were freshly baked from the dough, the toppings were good, and the service was fine. A reasonably priced option as we didn't have loads of time, we would certainly return if we get to Leeds again.0
