  • Hi,

For an evening meal I would suggest Bibi's, it is on the expensive side but is well worth it

A cheap but very tasty meal in the day, I would recommend WOKON which has 2 branches in leeds, set you back a 5er and fills you up!

theres quite a few reviews of places in leeds on that trustedplaces that everyone did the £10 amazon offer on

I was also going to suggest Bibis but would suggest you get there fairly early as it does get very busy. I'm not sure if they take bookings for a weekend. If you are interested it might be worth giving them a ring to check. It is not too far from the railway station.

Can I suggest Brasserie Blanc...not too far from the station...if you go for the 2 course special menu with a glass of wine if will set you back little more than Bibis and its much nicer IMHO

  • So many yummy places to eat. I love Bibi;s, have not been in a while but should think it is still as good. If you like japanese food teppenyaki is a fave, Chaophraya is lovely for Thai and just opposite Bibi's so in the train station area. Akbars is really good for indian, hmmmm im hungry now.:rotfl:

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
  • Having been previously based in Leeds for 17months and living a life out of a suitcase... here are my recommendations (I have on average eaten out 3 days/week in Leeds!) Ace service and def worth the value for both food quality and atmosphere.

    - Akbars - Indian
    - Chaophraya - Thai
    - Cuban Heels - Mexican
    - River Plate - Best Steaks
    - Bibis/Piccolino - Italian
    - Wokon Noodle bar - for a quick bite

All of which are within walking distance (5/10mins) of the Station.

I've only eaten here myself years ago but Sous-le-Nez which is just near the railway station had a really good write-up in our local paper m- 5 out of 5 stars for all the categories of food, value, atmosphere and service and I know it has been going twenty odd years. It has its own website so you can check and they do an early-bird 3 course meal including wine for £22.95 which lookd lovely. It may sound expensive but by the time you've bought a chinese you'll be way above that and I think it would fall into the "something special" category. Take advantage of the fact you only have to pay for you two and not the family.
  • 'Nando's is good.

Leeds is like London now, Skyscrapers galore.

It's a very Fast City, And has done brilliant over the last 7/8 years.

Shopping is Excellent everything for all types of wallet.

I think I am 'priviliged' living near Leeds.

From the last time I was in Leeds, almost a year ago, I was impressed by the wall to wall good restaurants on Greek Street, just up Park Row which is opposite the station.
So just head for Greek Street. You can't miss it...Wagamama on one corner and Wetherspoons on the other.
