Here is my recipe for HM cornish pasties.......sorry its taken a day or two:rolleyes:

    Pastry

    8oz Plain flour
    2oz lard
    2oz butter

    Filling

    12oz chuck steak
    1 chopped onion
    2 diced potatoes
    7oz turnip diced
    1 large carrot diced
    s and p
    1 beaten egg

set oven to 200c. Cover a baking sheet with greaseproof.
Rub fat into flour until like breadcrumbs and add cold water until a firm dough is formed. Wrap in cling film and put in fridge to rest for half an hour.

Roll out pastry and cut into 4 circles the size of tea plates. You may need to do this in two stages.
mix the other ingredients together and season.
put a pile of mixture into the middle of each circle. brush beaten egg around the edge of the pastry and pull edges together and crimp.
cook on the baking sheet for 20 mins then turn oven down to 150c and cook for further 45 mins.
Hi, Sorry to jump on in, but this sounds lovely! Can I ask, do you ever pre cook the chuck steak ? Was thinking these would be lovely with some leftover stew with the gravy 'rinsed off'. What do you think ?
    thanks in anticipation,
    xOS

    Thankyou OS.

I'm feeling much better now - as long as I don't overdo things. Hate taking it easy though, but don't want to have another flare up, so I'm trying to rest more.
