ESA is employment and support allowance, it's replacing IB from October. It's much harder to claim than IB and has two strands - one for severely disabled people is the support strand, the other strand aims to get people into work as quickly as possible, paying private sector firms to do this. In a nutshell that's it!

It's worth looking into a water meter. I had mine fitted free last year. I was paying £28pm then it went down to £12pm as soon as I had the meter fitted, and that was useage for just me and ex OH. Now I'm on my own, it's gone down to £10pm. It also makes you more aware of the water you use - like making sure you don't leave taps running, load up washing machine and use once a week, etc

I've posted a message on a forum I'm on to see if you can reapply for IB, hopefully there'll be a reply soon.

Will build on this as I go along

    Tasks done so far....

Water Meter - Called Welsh water and they are sending out appropriate forms. They said upto 3 months for installation. They also estimated savings of £28 a year but think with some economising it could be better. BTW, I forgot to mention the monthly amount for water is based on payment over ten months only.

Mobile phone - As I said previously my contract runs for another 2 months (2nd Nov). I don't think I can simply stop paying and break the contract because I had a 'FreeGift' with the phone which they would charge me for. I negotiated a drop to £20 per month but I think this will only kick in for the final month *sigh*. I have a few quid stuffed in my mattress so will set some aside for the final mobile payments and consider it ended.

    2 down, many to go...

    Watch this space....

At the end of the day you can only make 'token' payments to your creditors of £1 per month as thats all you can afford.
Do u have equity in your house?

Was wondering if bankrupcy might be an option but with that amount of equity not.
