Journal: Thought for the day

On the gifts in jars thread we have been discussing what to put in journals in jars... we have also been bemoaning the fact that no-one close to us will give us a lovely journal in a jar. So we agreed that we would start a virtual one where people can post their questions, challenges or suggestions of things to go in a journal. The idea though is to keep it to the point - so ideally not too much chat - or it will take too long to find the suggestion. :rotfl: Here's the first exercise to get you started.
Do the Rocking Chair Test
Picture your life 40 years from now, if you keep doing what you have always done.
What will it look like? Where are you?
Who is with you, if anyone? Who visits you?
How do you spend your time?
What lasting legacy are you leaving behind?
What are your key accomplishments?
What was your proudest moment?
How happy and content are you? Do you have regrets?
What do you wish you had done differently?
Now picture your life if you lived to the full, loved much and took appropriate risks, how good could your life be when you look back in 40 years? Answer the same questions again but this time think about what you need to change to achieve that. Aim to make one change towards that goal, this week.

By all means post more than one idea a day - that way if one idea doesn't suit you - you can try another.
Another thought for today:
"Think of 5 people you used to be close to and lost touch with or don't see as much now. Try and find up-to-date contact details for them and make contact with them again. Write about why you value them in your journal and then share that with them....."Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
