But why have a baby if you are giving it over to your sil to look after and you are returning to work? Whats the point?

Bit unfair on the OP, lots of women have to return to work for e.g financial reasons following the birth of a baby

So if you cant afford a baby ,and therefore arent with it as you have to be in work why have one? I just dont see the point.

Most people don't work 24 hours a day 7 days a week and they manage to see their children when they're not at work !!
Meanwhile work not only pays a wage but gives mental stimulation and fulfillment which all add to the enjoyment of family life!

I know people dont work 24/7. Leaving there children, to go work isnt right. A baby should be nurtured by its mother not left with a childminder etc. Having a baby is a blessing and not a right, as some women think today!

And know it all's should keep their opinions to themselves if they can't express it in a non-offensive way.

ETA, your the person who thinks that ADD and Autism doesn't exist aren't you? Think you have offended enough people by now?

TiaMai_d....dear me you have to accept other peoples opinions, and if you cant do that with good manners, you shouldnt be taking part in a public forum:confused:

Mely - Sorry, my mistake. You said ADD was caused by absent fathers. Anyway, I am glad I made you smile.

OP, congratulations! You do get by on maternity pay if you start to plan ahead. Plus the added bonus of not really getting out much helps to keep spending under control! When baby arrives everything is so different that you don't really notice the finances side of things. You can't afford to spend how you would have before kids, but keep a sensible head and it works out.

Plus... *looks over the shoulder for the anti benefit brigade* you can claim Tax credits and child benefit when baby is born and you may be entitled to a sure start maternity grant just before your due date too.
