Postage labels through Paypal???

Hi i've been selling on Ebay for a few years now, but have recently noticed the new postage scheme through Paypal. Up until now, I've just always taken my parcels to the PO and paid them to send it.
Has anyone used this service, and is it any good?? Do you have to use sticky labels to print onto or will paper do (then stuck on with tape)? And how do you work out what posatge to charge?
I hope to get some info on this, I've got a load to get on Ebay for my Xmas fund, and am hoping that it may save some money doing it through Paypal.

We use Paypal Postage & it does saves us some time sending 500 items a week.
Firstly, as a VAT Reg'd Business Seller using SMPro, we supply every customer with an invoice & then put them all back into the printer (on the reverse side) & select Paypal Postage & print each one out with the postage label on the reverse, fold it & pop it into an A6 clear document enclosed wallet.
We also use RM Signed For & RM's own limits on each weight range, so for example if an item weighes 180g, we'll enter 250g on Paypal
Here's a Link to RM Signed For: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?mediaId=51200698&catId=500201
Here's the clever bit for us, as each one is printed Paypal sends eBay a piece of data to say the item has been dispatched & marks them as such on SMPro & sends the buyer an email, so no more worrying about which orders have & haven't been dispatched.
When you take them to the PO, they'll still put them through the system to get their commissions, although its a lot quicker when you've already done the labels & you can hide the price paid for postage
You can use a Franking Machine to get a discount, although they charge a monthly fee.
They do have a Special Offer where you can try it a month & get £20 Postage free.

#3 out of interest, it sounds like you could (should) be using PPI Packetpost on those volumes. You would literally save a fortune on over the counter prices (better discount than franking and no monthly fee either) , and spend no more than 20 mins per day finalising your entire posting. Free collections from RM if you spend £15k per year too.0

I know I would be saving a fortune, as the main item I sell is 535g yet has to have postage for750g.
If RM would give me a Credit Account then I would be using PPI / Packetpost,
unfortunately I have a CCJ & on previous occasions when I have applied for a RM Credit Account they've told me 'The Computer says No'.0 -
Also, small [non expensive] 1st or 2nd class items can be posted at a letterbox. (Which saves queuing up
).

You can set uop an account with the Royal mail direct on their website and pay using a visa card.
However, for the PO to benefit from your purchases you need to actually buy it there, and that does have the advantage that you can easily get a COP in case you need to claim for loss.
The only time I ever print online is for one of my secondary ids where I have oodles of the product and can stamp the items and drop them into a box knowing I can send a second one if the first fails to arrive. Even then I would use the PO for the stock items if I had other things to go that day.
I took 31 packages yesterday to the PO and was welcomed with open arms, it look slike the ebayers have once again managed to save the local PO from the latest round of cuts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thats the thing, my post office people are soo nice, and love my business as most of the people that go are on the dole collecting their giro.
The only problem I have is time, I really dont have the time to be in the post office weighing out all the parcells, then it gets busy and people queing start huffing and puffing.0
