thank you for all the advice.
another question...anyone know how much national insurance etc we pay..i know it depends on earnings mine to be honest never is alotbout 20-40 per book...plus seeing as we are self employed does that mean we can offset some of our money we pay out (brochures, bags etc) against our taxes?
plus what sort of effect on child tax credits does it have...i know on IS i can earn upto 20 per week before they start to reduce my money.
ok that was afew questions...if im gonna do this i want to do it properly you know....is there anyone naughty out there who hasnt sorted it yet?
thanks again0 -
oh and what effect does it have on you if one of your reps falls into debt?0

You can opt out off paying National Insurance through the low earnings thing if your income from self employment is less than about £5k a year, it's just a simple form.
I don't think it affects Tax Credits very much, if at all, unless your putting in over 16hrs a week then you can claim Working Tax Credit and come off IS.
IS has ridiculous rules don't you think? Anything you do between earning £20 a week and doing 16hrs a week is pretty much a waste of time, no wonder theres so many people out there happy to live off the state!!0 -
Have just put in my C18 order and am confused at the two red crosses i.e. OOS, against the two customer vouchers re. the Orange offer...... Anyone have any more information? Sometimes things are hard enough being an Avon rep without them then offering customers a free offer but rescinding it without any reason! How are we supposed to explain that to our customers????Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon

thank you...i really should get it sorted and as i say i dont make much most ever has been 70 in a campaign so theoretically im not doing more than 20 a week but im definatly not doing more than the 16 hours a week
youre right what you say about the IS rules...i wish i wasnt on them but having a young child a 5 yr old who is had work...(in the process of being diagnosed with ADHD) and a 1 yr old..im so tired to work and by the time ive paid fo childcare for them both i would probablybe suffering..its hard to know what to do,...not taht i would find a job at the minute anywayit seems the world and its uncle is looking for a job at the minute so giving a job to a mum (who have those additional responsibilties) doesnt seem appealing to the employer
i really need to make this SL leader thing work but if im struggling this much to get one rep maybe its not such a good option0 -
I placed an additional order on 8th November as I had done a fundraiser on the Friday 6th. Invoice appeared and told me how many boxes and what was in it. Checked with fastrak on Monday 16th and it said passed to courier on the 10th. Well I called them yesterday to find out when it would be here and they told my husband it would be here as soon as!!!
As I had a hospital app I got him to call them back as " as soon as" meant nothing. Was meant to be here yeterday or today according to them. Well surprise surprise here we are and no order. Really hacked off as it makes me look stupid not having orders for people. Did a drop on a new area as well and picked up 3 new customers 2 of whom I knew. Well had to call them last night to tell them order would be here today only to discover two of them used to do Avon a couple of years and both had given up as they were hacked of being mucked about with deliveries not coming !!!! 3rd used to do Body shop and don't think she ever had that problem.
Emailed Avon and told them I wouldn't be paying my additional order tomorrow. Due to order again on Friday. They said they would put note on my account and delivery would be here 18th or 19th!!!!
Feel absolutely hacked off . One of them is going away on holiday tomorrow and I won't get her till later on next week.
Sorry for the rant but I have spend 3 days waiting on it when I have had other things to do. Have a place to leave it but I am not insured should anything happen to it.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -
Am wondering about doing a 'tie-up' between my activities re. Avon and Betterware - the latter are marketing a really cool Santa Key http://www.betterware.co.uk/productdetails.aspx?pid=038704&language=en-GB which I think could earn Dads 'brownie points'...... Took one into our local yesterday and whilst I had to explain the concept i.e. for any families living in a new house without a chimney this is a 'special card/key' for kids to send to Santa with their wish list so Santa can gain temporary access
(An easy way for Dads to show Mum that they have 'given some thought' to Christmas :rotfl:) Think this may become my 'Congratulations' prize to my Avon customers with kids ie to introduce them to Betterware. :T

Not had much experience but surprised that an additional order has taken so long to arrive. I ordered two additional orders last campaign; one was here within 5 days and the other took exactly a week. The latter was marked as being with courier at the w/e but then obviously they have to 'get organised'. Think am right in saying that Avon quote 5-7 days for delivery of additional orders and ...... so far/touch wood that's been accurate for me.
I never commit myself to a customer until the goods have actually arrived (and I've checked the order - haven't had one yet that arrived 'perfect' but got to admit that compared to Betterware, Avon is 'easy'! :j)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Avon state 5-7 working days and think only weekdays count so it should have been here Tuesday at latest. It showed on system as being prepared on the 9th and fastrak showed it sent to courier on 10th. Not overly impressed with my courier have to say. I was out last week and left a box to go back when i got my replacement order. Hubby just handed him the book not knowing any better and he signed the first copy. It had no 4 digit no on copy and showed as being sent by Po and it contained only one item. Obvious more than one in the box. I am sure they have deliberately not delivered this order cos I queried time on the order and I made a fuss on my first delivery when they told me they probabl;y wouldn't get out to me on the day. Got onto my ASM and delivery appeared after 6pm. Which would appear to be the norm for me.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0
