Still not sure whether to knock or shove for my first drop of houses, drop monday and collect thursday? Time for another two drops for the 27th order date then. I think!.... All very confusing!!

Each to their own, dingdong, i.e. whatever you're comfortable with. Makes sense to me to ask if there's any interest rather than just live in hope but others do say that some people may instantly say No but then change their mind if they get chance to look at the book in the comfort of their own home.

Have just started doing Betterware (thought that if I was 'walking the streets' with Avon then I might as well combine the two.... ) but hadn't realised what a hard slog B is. They work on the principle of littering the streets with brochures, then going back two days later to collect. For comparison purposes, on my first drop I only managed to get 50% of the books back and I got orders from 10% of the books dropped off. (That's a lot of hassle for orders of - in some cases - £3.99  ) Avon is now feeling quite 'up market'! ;) I have found, however, that quite a few of my Avon customers are interested in Betterware and, conversely, I've found two new Avon customers through doing Betterware.... Food for thought maybe?

i did betterware when i first started avon...funnily enough the same day lol...but it was such hard work i gave it up after a month the amount of work needed for the little amount of money its only bonus is you dont pay for the brochures but that is it really.
i had alot of problems with stuff breaking too which means they dont just replace it you have to order the second one pay for that then they refund the money for the first...not good.
it really wasnt worth it for me personally..my neighbour used to make 200 pounds a week on it but they had the car were delivering bigger areas and dropping a 100 books a day!!
i think ill stick with my avon :)
  • Just a thought - am wondering whether we can help each other in yet another way via this thread.....

I had a customer in Campaign 17 who ordered a Thomas the Tank Engine book (clearance campaign 17 @ £5) but it was Out of Stock. I have other customers on my back campaign, who ordered the Christmas Bargain Bag from Campaign 16's clearance book, which I 'suspect' includes a TtTEb. I rang Customer Services, who advise (nooooo idea if right or wrong as yet) that all specific campaign Bargain Bags have the same contents. IF (possibly a big 'if') that is the case, then maybe we could help each other by posting up the exact contents of each campaign's Bargain Bags?

    Any thoughts, anyone?

Had quite a few things missing this time so i asked for immediate replacements. Two of the items were a white bra and black knickers. Got totally different black bra in the wrong size. ASked for immediate replacement for bra how do I go about returning the wrong bra I obviously don't have a code for it on invoice do . I use returns book so wondered if I would just put in box under item not ordered or charged. Also have a lipstick which I got as a replacement but I somehow managed to ask for replacement twice despite only having one to replace. How do I do that can I go back to original invoice and put a code in for mistake!!!!
Had an orer for Anew with black bag and trial sizes. apparently back is now out of stock and the free bag is a horrible cheap toiletries bag. Not very happy as customers obviuosly expect something of same or similar quality and the replacement is not. Thought I had seen it in clearance section somewhere but I can't find it.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!

Yes, definitely hard work (I'm no spring chicken!) Gather the area where I live hasn't been covered by Betterware for a while so the new Area Manager keeps telling me how B do it and I keep reverting with my views on their modus operandi and how I see my input going forward..... Will persevere and 'litter' the area in the run up to Christmas but pretty sure I will then revert to just looking after 'my locals'. The two do seem to dovetail slightly though, which is spurring me on. Might as well use their free brochures to find new Avon customers and the B bag is quite handy to deliver Avon orders! ;)

PS: Thanks for the tip re. replacing goods. One street I littered ended up with the only interested party being an old lady with a faulty mop she bought ? months ago.... I took it back and promised her a replacement/refund. Time will tell how that works out.

We've done really well this time, lots more people have ordered and the average order seems to be up. Think it helped that I did deliver books to people who haven't had one for ages (as although they ordered once, they then stopped looking etc) and a lot of those people placed orders.

Will be doing all the campaigns I think, will just need to get organised and get the books ready in plenty of time, hoping that when I'm off over Christmas and the new year that i can get and recanvass the whole of mine & OH territory while he's at work lol and maybe get some new customers to keep the figures up, as obviously a lot of my regulars probably won't order over the new year with having no money (the same as me lol!)

My C17 started really slowly too but somehow it caught up and then became my biggest order so far - think the children's shampoo etc. items being on offer was a boost towards the end. The slow start spurred me on to go out and find new customers.

Didn't give any thought to missing out a campaign. Will only service my regulars though over the Christmas period - did put out little 'gift tags' in C18 advising that anyone introducing a new customer will get a free gift and have found a couple of groups wanting to fundraise so have offered them 10% discount for their causes going forward...... Every little helps and all that.

Mine got off to a VERY slow start (only £36 after collecting my first, and biggest brochure drop), but then picked up. My final total, including books etc. was £553 which puts me into PC for the first time :D

Mind you, I'm not exactly jumping up and down at the prospect. I had a look at their forum and it's very dull after this one. I may save 59p (ish) and get 15 more brochures though - whoopee!!! :p

Can't remember everything that was in the Xmas bargain pack, but we ordered 3 hoping that there may be some stuff in for xmas pressies for my customers, but we ended up returning them. The Thomas book was in all three of them. There were some earrings in a Christmas box - think it was the reindeer shaped gift box, there were some dip dishes, and a couple of other things that I can't remember!

Hope this is of some help!
