  • Only just found this thread (am new to Avon too - currently awaiting delivery of my third order - errors in the first two deliveries so hoping it will be third time lucky!) and found the tips really useful so thanks ladies.

Another tip mentioned to me was to personally address order forms i.e. when you put them in the new/next book as customers tend to appreciate it. Does anyone else do that? Got to admit I did think it was a bit time-consuming but it does help when putting the orders together and delivering them i.e. if you let the new order form stick out of the bag/book. It also helped me recently to realise when I'd omitted to drop someone's book off. :o

Think someone asked earlier but maybe I missed the answer - any chance of anyone outlining the main advantages/differences between being a Sales Rep and Sales Leader?

PS: Joanne, something similar happened to me but luckily I was in time to put in an additional order. Glad I made the effort because they were my biggest customer (with an order on time) in the next campaign!:j

  • I had to do an additional order, she ordered £45 worth of stuff so bumped it up with rubbish I didn't need to at least make MOV, then she said she could wait 3 weeks, but I was happier knowing I made an effort for her.

After thinking I was mega organised this campaign I am now a good few days behind collection and in work until 2pm today and working day and night tomorrow. My sis invited me out to lunch after work and initially I said no as I wanted to catch up with Avon collection but now thinking, hang on, I work 7 days a week with 2 jobs PLUS Avon, I need some ME time!! I am getting myself all stressed because I haven't collected when I said I would, and even told a customer I would collect the day after and didn't, but I need to have some time out to relax!! I have found out I need a horrible examination at the hospital, I think it's due to stress but they need to rule out anything more sinister, my part time job is at threat of redundancy, as is my full time job, and I feel so guilty about putting Avon to one side and letting customers down. I think if I get the chance I need to tell them what's going on so they kind of understand if I am a bit lax.

Sorry for boring you all with this, just need to let it all out sometimes! x

i delivered to a customer this morning after her cancelling on me several time.
she called me up 5 minutes later saying she didn't want one of the jewellery items which was a necklace and matching earings. so i've collected them back.
now i know she hasn't tried the earings on as we had a conversation about it before i delivered the order and she assured me she hadn't but she did open the small plastic bag within the box that contained the earings, so will i have any issues in returning them?

  • I have the same dilemma Missysx - the woman hasn't even accepted the earrings so I know they haven't been tried on and she keeps cancelling on me for payment - almost 3 campaigns later!! I don't know if I can send them back??

    Good afternoon ladies!

HELP! I need to know which Avon product is the one that gets rid of midges.

I know it used to be a yellow one, apparently the most recent one is blue SSS, but of course they've changed all the packaging!

Anyone know which product I should be ordering??

(I may have asked this before but can't find the flippin post :embarasse :D )

Good luck with your test(s); hope everything is OK. As you say, sounds very much like stress may be at least partly responsible.

I forgot to collect one customer's book last campaign - woke up in the middle of the night and remembered it (how sad is that!?) - went round the following day and the book was on the doorstep - with an order. She works just round the corner so I made the effort to go and apologise for forgetting her. Turns out she'd forgotten to put the book out the day before anyway (her husband reminded her - how cool is that!) so maybe some karma involved somewhere?

Do think customers appreciate 'the relationship' side of things with their Avon rep. but there's no need to wear a hair shirt. Why not just pen a short circular note and put it in with your next orders/books? Something along the line of "Really sorry if I've caused you any inconvenience recently but some personal/family/health issues cropped up this month. Rest assured, 'normal service' will be resumed asap!"

    Good luck with everything again.

Wouldn't swear to this as I'm still new to Avon but think it could be item no. 6700 Dry Oil Body Spray 'soft & fresh/original'

06700 I'm guessing - pesky computers chopping 0's off! :D (It's very annoying when I'm collating orders in Excel!)

    Thanks loads Cuckoo!

A bit off topic, but when you're typing numbers in Excel, if you change the cell format to 'text' it will just accept whatever you type in and not chop off the O's (no, O's for the gate.........sorry, had a Ronnie B moment there :-D ).
Just highlight the column you want to change and right click>format cells>number tab>text.
