  • Oooh that was my first EVER post on MSE! I'm a serial lurker though lol
  • Hello all,

I've been doing Avon for a little while now, started in C13, but I did do it a couple of years ago too.

I was just wondering, does anyone have a copy of C14? I got myself a Pro-to-go Lippy on my last campaign and I love it, and want to get another (Or two!) and wondered whether it was on offer in the last brochure? I left my pile of C14's in the dining room and they got accidentally recycled so I dont have one to look back on!

    Many thanks :)

    Lise x

    Hi Lise,

On my first campaign (C16) and I've been amazed how many people at work ordered things! At first I was disappointed as it was £6-8 per person, but then it soon mounted up! I had an order from a friend and some family too, so now up to £97! Went out tonight to collect books for the first time, only got 1 back with an order for £8 :( but one woman said she'll drop the book back off in a few days as her daughter has it! Also went in the next street over as that's my 'actual' territory and dropped off books there for the first time, to collect on Saturday. I'm really hoping to push the £148 mark!

Also towards the end of this month I'll be leaving where I work now and be starting work in a new job... so I won't be having all my work colleagues order from me for C17, so going to have to work MUCH harder next time!

My SL is coming out on Thursday evening to show me how to order... hope he's not expecting me to actually do my order than as most of my cat's are out! Saying that it's probably too early for a C16 order? I only got the books on Saturday!

Hi congrats on your orders, you're doing well :)

Don't worry - your SL will just show you have to order, but you won't actually be submitting your order then - it's just good to show people how to order things themselves a while before their deadline, so that they can get on with themselves rather than leaving it to the last minute!

Am going to try to deliver to my 3 territory customers this afternoon after I pick my son up from school, its funny but I thought I had better try to look respectable and so have had a go at putting on some eyeshadow (I got an eyeshadow quad from c15 - the teal ones) along with my new mascara....have just looked in the mirror properly (as I wear glasses and so find it quite hard to see what I am doing) and I look like I have either been punched in both eyes or even more kn**kered than I actually feel :rotfl:
better go and rub it off a bit lol...

Delivered around 50 books to the rest of my territory yesterday with one of my twins (3) and she wanted to sit in her buggy and hold the books for me and every time I went down a drive to post one she kept saying 'good girl mummy' lol....at least it made me feel better than when I go it alone!!

Will pick them all up on Friday, sooo hoping I pick up at least another customer...I am going to knock on doors this time to ask for the books if they are not out...will take a bit of nerve for me, but I really don't want to lose as many books this time, especially as I can use these c16s for a while yet...

I find I spend ages putting on make-up before going out too! I have one customer who always comments on something I am wearing & orders it too!
Knocking doors is daunting at 1st but gets easier - you will soon think what was all the fuss about - I know I did!
My little boy (3) plays an Avon game now - worrying isnt it!:rotfl:

  • I'm also terrified of knocking on doors. Instead i push neatly printed out friendly notes through their doors asking them to pop their catalogues outside for me on a specified day as they weren't left out for me when i called to collect. I'm so worried about annoying/interrupting people so i use this method instead. It's prompted a few people to order but more often than not i never get the book back. Proof really that knocking on doors is probably more effective :) Must pluck up the courage!

Well this is my first campaign but I was determined not to let anyone keep my books so I knocked on doors! My BF was with me, and he kept saying I was doing 'girly' knocks and the people won't be able to hear, but I didn't want to bray the door down!
I went round the corner to post some books, came back round and he'd knocked back on doors he didn't think I'd knocked on hard enough for and had gotten some books back for me lol!
Glad I knocked on one though, a woman said her daughter had the book and she'll post it through my door later this week :j

    Hi All

I am scared of knocking on doors, but when I first started out, had to, to get my books back. It does get easier.

And in doing this, found one lady, who didn't like leaving her book out with her order, and asked me in future to knock and I could collect her order, another who hadn't had enough time to look at the book and wanted longer.

It is worth it, and I must admit sometimes you get rude people, but they are very much in the minority, just smile, thick skin and walk away.

    Most people are lovely.
