YAY jovichick, it's great when you get your order, sounds like you are all organised, well done:T Do you have targets in your literature too for the next 3 campaigns?

It says £500, just been reading through :D Like the look of the rewards for achieving it :j

    Hi Everyone

I am thinking of becoming an Avon Rep - have never done anything like this before though so it's a bit daunting!

This forum has been good for tips - although it does sound more complicated that I first thought!! Don't worry - it's a lot to take in too start with, but once you get started it's very straight forward - obviously when you first start out it will take longer but once you get the hang of and learn who in your territory wants a book & who doesn't then it doesn't take very long at all - you can do as much or as little as you want!

I am waiting for someone to call me but I am really keen to start - does anyone know the local person for Bath?

Also, I have a full time job and was just wondering how hard others in this situation find it?

    Thanks in advance!!!
I work full-time too and have a territory of about 300 houses and manage to fit it in pretty well - though OH does help too! I'm going to become a sales leader soon as well, and then sign up OH so we have more territory & obviously sign up other people too! The amount of time involved really does vary, this week I submitted by order on Sunday, and it's going to be delivered on Monday - so I've done very little at all on Avon this week! :p I like to have a "week off" and then do all my canvassing & delivering in the other 2 weeks, that way I don't end up dreading it! Though I'll never dread delivery day - I love receiving all the bits I've ordered for myself lol! Especially the things that have been completely free from creative ordering!:rotfl:

And the good news is - my ASM emailed me this morning, and she is going to pick me up at 10.30 tomorrow morning to take me out & show me how being a SL works :D

    welcome to salesleadership,
visit your reps only once? what kind of support can you give and do you expect your reps to become independent just after 1 visit.

i do all my 3 visits , 1st one to sign up , 2nd one to see how they been getting on and to show them how to order/backorder,tips,hinds.etc.
3rd one after delivery arrived to see if everything is alright and show them how to return goods.

the 3rd one can be done by phone , but face-toface training is much better.

    and

if your reps seen you more then just once they are more likely to remember you in a nice way.

i understand that you want to build your team fast , so did i but quality reps goes before quantity

its so easy to make mistakes initially so a proper training is vital for a good rep
Ooh I'm so confused now, as my upliner told me the opposite that just 1 visit was fine for a rep. Especially as some of mine are nearly 300 miles away lol (although most now are much nearer thank Gawd). I wish there were standard rules that everyone followed so I knew for certain! Happy to do more visits, in fact 1 visit feels rushed to be honest.

I do this pretty much fulltime now. Do you spend a certain amount of time in your week signing new visits and then a certain amount of time doing followups?

I'd say definately at least 2 visits at a minimum - I signed up with my ASM, and is a little rubbish bless her - but she did come to visit me twice! First time she gave me books, order forms etc and talked me through the basics, then on the second visit - as Avon Salesleader said - she showed me how to order online and talked me through what to do when my delivery came - checking it etc, and bagging it up.

She was meant to come a third time...but that never materialised so I have no idea what she was planning to do then! But when I become a SL I will definately visit twice at least - more if they need it! Especially as Avon Salesleader said - it helps stop the risk of you loosing books to people who will never follow through! Understandable only doing 1 visit when they live so far away though mind you!!!

  • why would you travel 300 miles to sign up a rep? there are potential reps everywhere.....may i ask where you live that you cannot find anyone nearer

What a great campaign everyone seems to have had - except me! :o Well, I only did part of my territory this last week since I only had my baby 3 weeks ago, so far have about £110 in orders (order date tomorrow) - so not too bad I guess, 2 new customers as well. Still got two orders from C8 to deliver, one doesn't have money until the 2nd June and the other will let me know when they get their money. Was hoping for £250 to get all the freebies but will have to make do with LOA1. Will have to get stragglers tomorrow as well so hopefully another order for me.

Hoping for a better C10, starting my new territory tomorrow, have all cats bagged and ready to go!

My ASM visited my twice, first to sign me up and then near order date. She also offered to help me with deliveries since I had my baby on order date last time. I actually texted customers about baby and most came to pick their order up which was nice!
You are doing well considering you gave birth 3 weeks ago. I was still fit for nothing then and it was my 3rd:rotfl:
