i still dont understand how its advertised as a job to earn money but i have not seen a penny of the money it says i earn on each campaign

I know that feeling very well. One of my friends thinks I have an addiction to underwear since i became a rep, think ive bought every set thats come out since I started

Well I started to think that this campaign was going to be rubbish, not only did I not have any orders, but several people that didn't tick the box last time (not interested in receiving more cats) ticked the box this time!! Honestly the middle part of my territory really aren't interested at all.

Anyway I collected in about 12 catalogues (C9) yesterday and I now have orders totalling £110.00:jI am so happy as I was beginning to wonder if this campaign was ever going to take off. I have more cats to deliver tomorrow and quite a few to collect so here's hoping I get more orders!

I had a strange thing happen yesterday. I went to collect a cat and the woman said she left it on her doorstep in the morning (it was gone) and apologised if someone had taken it. There was no order in it thankfully but I found the whole thing strange. At 8.30pm I get a left a voice message from a house I don't deliver to (ticked the box to say they weren't interested last time, so didn't deliver this campaign) anyway the message said that she had my catalogue and has an order and I said on the stickie that I was going to pick it up on Monday and I still hadn't. So I went round at 9pm and noted that it was the next door neighbour of the person that said the cat had been taken!!! Anyway the woman wasn't in!!!! After calling me and telling me to come round and collect it! I left a note telling her to leave it outside and I will collect it at 5pm today. I am still surprised by it.

I have two orders left to deliver and I have left them 2 notes each asking them to contact me. Neither have, what do I do? How many more times do I try to get them in before I send the stuff back? Quite annoyed by it really, I would like to think that people wouldn't order if they didn't intend to pay for it!

Very strange hun but maybe they have had avon reps before who have done one campaign and then dissapeared so don't want to order to be let down IYKWIM.
Fingers crossed they will realise quickly you are a stayer :)
Sometimes life bites your backside and they genuinely did want the stuff but have lack of funds.
For instance last week hubby bumped into another car ( a taxi of all things ) but because hubby hasn't been driving for too long we didn't want to claim insurance so sorted it with cash £230 that was on Wednesday
then on Friday we had a flat tyre, a screw on the shoulder of the type and was unrepairable so needed a new tyre another £40
Luckily we didn't have anything else going out that week an managed it but if I had avon orders I would have had to make a return.
Might be worth saying on one of the notes you realise life gets in the way sometimes but if they would like to order again just to get in touch.
If they still don't get intouch, I would give it a wide berth as you have given them the oppertunity to be honest and work something out.

Great news with the orders though :T
Life is what you make it;)

Thanks for the get well messages. Feel a little better today, had a better night's sleep and went to collect some cats and have £118 in order so far!! One from a girl who ordered about £25 worth last camp at £20 this camp! Think she's going to be my best customer! One woman who had never ordered off Avon before and wanted to know about returns if she doesn't like the colour. I said it's all totally, fully refundable as I understand it may look different in the cat than when you get it. I also mentioned I could get her samples in the future as she said she would like to order from it all the time as it's so much cheaper than the shops. £30 order this camp!
Still got loads more streets to do!
I still have this 1 delivery left. She forgot I was coming round last night, so I said I would be back tonight. I want to bank the money tomorrow, so not sure what to do? Risk using my own money? Don't really want to as I don't have much myself this month.
  • Thanks Karen! So give a wide berth if they don't respond the next note, do you mean not deliver a cat to them next time either? I am agree that sometimes life gets in the way, my flood for example, but I would have thought they would have called and just let me know, I'm not bothered either way if I have to send it back, in fact I want the lip gloss stick in one of them as it looks much better in person that it did in the book! I just don't like going round all the time to find them not in and unresponsive to my notes.

I do hope these customers realise I am here to stay, I know loads of people must drop out quite quickly, but although it has been more work initially than I thought, I believe I will need to spend less time on it in the future once I get my territory organised!

Lyndsey, glad to hear you are feeling better and congrats on the new orders:T I had a customer who ordered £20 last campaign and ordered £40 this campaign, I was so happy as I wasn't sure if customers who ordered last time would order again so soon! She will get another free gift. I gave her a room spray last time so will look for something else for her. Sounds like you are heading in the right direction for a great campaign, especially if you have loads more streets to do!! I am yet to pick up my C8 cats from new customers so I am hoping I get some new ones from that!

Summer - it says 14 days from date of invoice, or when you place your next order, whichever you do SOONEST. My invoice date said May 1st, even though I didn't get it till a few days later, so I think I need to have it banked by 14th. Want to do it tomorrow though as I know it's done then.
Also, if you are planning on going to HSBC (Think I might) then you add 50p admin charge. Not sure about if you pay at PO counter, that's nearer to me than the bank - anyone can advise on this?
Hope this girl pays tonight, not sure what I will do otherwise. I am lazy so will probably end up keeping it!
  • I was going to pay online, is that not easier? I will need to check my invoice today, no doubt that will be sooner than I thought.
