Tomorrow is the night I have to collect my first lot of brochures from my new territory!!! Fingers crossed they leave them out for me and there's some orders.

Shame I have to do it in the dark though. I have booked Thursday afternoon off work though to sort my latest delivery out and take the C17 books to most of the rest of the streets. Not sure I'll have enough books to cover it all because I figure it's more important to look after my work colleagues first who are regular customers.

If it's too dark tomorrow night, I might just wait and collect the books on Thursday lunchtime (unless I can persuade my OH to go out in the morning for me) Does this matter?

Please keep you fingers crossed for me that I get some orders My SL reckons there's a good market on these streets.

My OH is worried about me having to go back a lot of times to deliver the stuff and people not paying. Any suggestions about how to tackle this potential problem?

I find the best thing is to put a slip on the order form that the customer can detatch with dates, your number and a place for them to put their order total. Never had a problem doing this. Before I used to put a slip through the day before with the order total and asking people to call if they weren't going to be in. That worked fine too, but I had to go out to deliver them that way!

I'm pretty new myself, so I am still finding out what works for me. That's just the way I do it - I'd text them like others here do if I could, but most of my customers are old ladies so I don't think its really an option!

My fingers are crossed for you! Is it worth asking your SL or ASM if they have any spare books, especially last campaign as you could back order with them and they;re more likely to have these going spare.

    Hi guys,

After seeing my sister very successfully sell Avon for the last year I've decided to have a go myself for a bit of extra cash. My books are due to go out for the first time today, but I'm interested in putting a newsletter in with them before I take them. Does anyone else do this? I don't suppose you might have a template that I can look at for inspiration? Any other tips to encourage people to buy in your first campaign? I've offered 10% off if they spend £15 in this campaign, but didn't know if £15 was too high?

Thanks in advance - been following this since the first thread was set up and it's been very helpful. :D

Evening everyone, eventually back online so need to catch up. I've given up on my territory for now, only got 3 books back n its a very long road! Had quite a few orders come in from my friends school tho. Think my orders now add up to £200 n i've still got a few days before i need to place my order. Started a new job last week too so once i've got c17 out of the way i'm gonna see if i can leave a brochure n order forms there for the staff.
Just a quick question about the paper bags. Which ones are the best to get? I've got a few small, med and large orders but dont want to waste money buying bags that are no good. i know they are only cheap but at the mo every penny extra counts for me.

I use the large ones for everything cos I always pop a book in with the items. Then just fold the extra bit at the top down to make a nice tidy parcel :) I write the name, address and cost of the order on the bag so I'm not messing around trying to dig out the slip at the door :) x

i used Microsoft publisher to make my newsletter using one of the templates provided with the software and i ran an "Exclusive Introductory Offer - spend £20 get 10% off" so i dont think £15 is too high... especially as ive had loads of orders over £20 from people i dont even know including one for £47! So go for it! :D

I just collected the last of my first campaign books.. think ive lost 4 books in total out of 56... managed to get another £68.50 in orders today, including one which allowed me to do some clever back ordering and bag myself a free bag from C16. My current customer sales stand at £308 :j (wouldve been even more if id hadnt done some backordering to bag the extra commission! :p)

MIGHT have one more coming tomorrow as the lady forgot i was calling back and has left the book in her work where she was showing her collegues (:D ) said she'd pass it in tomorrow..... and Ive missed a big order for this campaign because another lady said her workmate wanted to do a huge order but shes gone off sick and wont be back for 2 weeks... but she does still want it all... so i said in that case id leave her with my C17 and id just order it all specially for her for next time ;) Id also pass in the C18 book though as she said she had a few other collegues interested :D

Evening ladies, can someone please tell me, is there a way to veiw the HT's online other than right at the end of submitting an order?
My order comes tomorrow and I'm sat here thinking what it they dont send me my HT like last time! They said they were sending me one out straight away and I'm still waiting!!
I did get one though, a very kind lady from here sent me one :)

I was checking my invoice online too and my camp 16 order has gone in as an additional order and they've had the cheek to charge me £2.50 for it! They can armhole if they think I'm paying that!!
Also they have credited me for my returns, the same product twice, at different costs, and no sign of the replacement yet. When I take my customer her next order and have to explain why I haven't been round with the replacement in the last 3 weeks I'm going to be telling her how very naff the call centre now is!!

Hi Emma. When I pick up my brochures (when re-canvassing) if there is an order inside, i put a note through the door saying thanks for your order, I will be delivering it on xxxday am/pm. If this is inconvenient, please call me to rearrange delivery.
Then get some yellow calling cards, and when you try delivering and no-one's in, leave a card to ask them to contact you. That way you've given them 2 chances.

Also, when the door is answered, don't hold out the Avon bag. (I made this mistake).....the person answering would invariably take it and then say oh, she's not in, but i'll get her to drop the money round to you later....which they would but I'd be left waiting for it to arrive. Best to keep hold of goods til you see their purse in their hand!! It's a lot easier than trying to ask for the bag back;)
  • Evening Mousie. :-)
You can't view the HT til the end of ordering I'm afraid, which is a bit of a pain!
My order also arrives tomorrow and I'm hoping it's not going to be as late as last time (5& 1/2 hours later than I usually get it :() I was till bagging up at 9pm that night instead of delivering orders.
Did you put 2 orders in for C16? If not, when you put your C17 in, make sure you click the drop down box for regular order and not additional order.
If you only put the one order in, get in touch with them and ask them to refund the postage.;)
